Toronto Pearson Airport: Transfers and Taxi
Transfers from Toronto Pearson Airport
Private transfers from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) are the quickest and most convenient option to reach the most popular destinations in the province of Ontario: Oakville, Waterloo, London, Hamilton, etc. Also, from the air hub, you can get to world-famous Niagara Falls.
With the Kiwitaxi service, you can:
- Reach your desired destination faster. You won’t have to look for public transport and taxi pick-up locations and then wait there: our driver will meet you right inside the terminal building strictly at the specified time and lead you to the car.
- Pick the car that suits you best. We offer several car classes: if a standard sedan doesn’t suit your needs, you can choose a minivan or a minibus. If you travel with small children, you can reserve child car seats.
- Pay for your ride in your currency. When making a prepayment on the Kiwitaxi website, you can choose the preferred currency and thus avoid buying Canadian dollars upon arrival.
This travel option will save you lots of hassle in case your flight arrives at night.
The air hub is located around 30 km northwest of the city. The Kiwitaxi private transfer will reach your hotel in the city in around 50 mins. The trip cost is 82 USD.
Taxi from Toronto Pearson Airport
Taxis at the air hub are waiting at the stands on the ground levels of both terminals. All authorized vehicles have the GTAA number plate and sticker on the window. At the stands, you will find standard taxis and limos — all of them offer flat rates for trips from the air hub.
The taxi fare to downtown is 56 CAD or 41 USD. There are also some surcharges not included in the flat fare — for instance, you will be charged 15 CAD extra for oversized baggage.
Be ready to spend some time in a line for taxis. Also, keep in mind that you won’t find a car larger than a 6-seater van at the stand. If you’re a group of more than 6 people, it would be better to choose a transfer — thus, you’ll be able to pre-order a minibus with 7 or 10 seats. Using the Kiwitaxi service will also keep you from waiting — our driver will pick you up right upon your arrival.
Public Transport from Toronto Pearson Airport
There are two options to reach the city from Pearson air hub:
By UP Express train. It’s the fastest public transport option — it will take you to the central station (Union Station) in 25 mins. It leaves from the station at Terminal 1. You can purchase tickets online, from customer service counters or ticket vending machines.
By bus. It’s a cheaper but much longer option. To reach the city center, you first need to catch the TTC 900 express bus to Kipling Station (30 mins), and then change to the metro to the city center (30 mins) from there. Tickets can be bought from ticket counters or vending machines — they’re valid for both the bus and the metro. TTC 900 runs from both terminals.
Buses can also take you to other cities in Ontario: Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Richmond Hill, Vaughan.
Public transport isn’t available at night. Also, it can be crowded at rush hours.
