Frankfurt Airport: Transfers and Taxi
Transfers from Frankfurt Airport
Frankfurt (FRA) is one of the busiest air hubs in Germany with more than 70 million passengers per year. It is the starting point to many destinations: the city itself, Baden-Baden, Strasburg, Luxembourg, Mainz, and many other cities and resorts. If you arrive in this city, a transfer will help you easily reach any place!
Here is why a transfer from Frankfurt is a good choice:
It’s fast. You do not have to wait in a line to fetch a cab. This is a busy air hub, so you might have to spend a lot of time waiting for one. With Kiwitaxi, you meet the driver at the arrivals area and depart immediately.
It’s comfortable. A vehicle is booked only for you and your group. In public transport, you might have to travel in a crowd of people.
It’s safe. Even if you do not speak German, the driver will know where to take you. First, he meets you with a nameplate. Then he takes you to the car and helps with your bags. You depart straight to your hotel and do not get lost on your own.
It’s easy. Trips are booked and paid for online. Once you arrive, there is no need to search for currency exchange with an unprofitable rate.
It is clear that an airport transfer from the Rhein-Main-Flughafen is the best option.
The air hub is 13 km away from the city. A trip with Kiwitaxi service takes around 20 minutes and its fare is 49 Euro.
Taxi from Frankfurt Airport
Cabs can be found outside Terminals 1 and 2 on special taxi stands. Mostly, official cars are white or cream-colored but there can be exceptions. The price of a taxi from Frankfurt Airport to downtown is around 30 Euro. There are no additional charges for the number of passengers, although you might have to pay for extremely heavy or oversized luggage.
You can also use these apps:
- MyTaxi
- Uber
- Sixt
Normally, German cabs take up to three passengers. If you need to travel with a group of up to 7 persons, it is better to book a Kiwitaxi trip. There are different vehicle types: economy, VIP, and more!
Public transport from the air hub
If you are wondering about how to get to downtown for cheap, public transport is the right choice.
- The Airliner for 8.75 Euros. It departs from the arrivals areas at terminals 1, 2 (on the second level) around every 30 minutes. The work time is from 04:44 am to 11:59 pm.
- The S Bahn for 4.95 Euro. Trains depart from the Ground Level of Terminal 1. You need to take the S6 or S9 lines that go to Offenbach Ost and Hanau to reach the city railway station which is located in the downtown. Trains work from 04:32 am to 01:32 am and depart around every 10 minutes.
