Stuttgart Airport: Transfers and Taxi
Transfers from Stuttgart Airport
Transfers from Stuttgart Airport (STR) are the quickest and most stress-free way to reach popular tourist destinations in Germany and France: Baden-Baden, Karlsruhe, Strasbourg, Colmar, etc. Also, from the air hub, you can get to Europa-Park — a famous theme park in Rust.
Here are some advantages of this transport option:
- No waiting. You don’t have to stand at public transport stops or in a line for taxis: your driver meets you strictly at the specified time.
- No language problems. You don’t have to explain anything in German, as your driver receives all the information needed ahead of time.
- Several vehicle classes. If a sedan car is small for you, you can select a spacious minivan or even a minibus.
If you travel with children, you can reserve child car seats.
The air hub is located 12 km south of the city. The transfer will reach it in 40 mins. The trip costs 77€.
Taxi from Stuttgart Airport
There are several taxi companies servicing the air hub. Taxis can be taken from the stands in front of Terminals 1, 2, 3 (close to the exits of the Arrivals). Fares are calculated according to the meter.
The approximate taxi fare from Stuttgart Airport to the city center is 60€ (at nighttime, prices for taxi services may be higher).
If you want to pay with your credit card, ask if it is possible before getting into a car, as not all drivers have card terminals. If you choose a transfer, you won’t have to worry about that at all: you can easily prepay for your ride on the website. Also, you can choose the currency that suits you best.
Public Transport from Stuttgart Airport
You can use one of these options:
- S-bahn trains (S2 and S3). They'll take you to the central railway station in 27 mins. You need a ticket for 2 zones: it costs around 3€ and can be bought from ticket machines at the station. Trains run from T1 four times per hour (on weekends, they’re less frequent). They stop running at 00:38.
- Buses. The ride to the downtown takes 30 mins and costs around 4€. Bus stops can be found near all terminals. Also, there’s a bus station between T4 and Flughafenstraße, where you can catch intercity buses.
Public transport can be very crowded at peak hours.
Booking a transfer from Stuttgart Airport
You need to make your order at least 24 hours in advance. However, we’ll try to find a car for you even if there’s less time left.
You need to specify this info to make an order: the date and time of your trip, the desired vehicle class, and extra services needed.
When your order is made, you'll get a confirmation and a voucher by email. In the voucher, you’ll find all the necessary details: the journey date and time, the pick-up point, and the driver’s contact information.
