How to Get from Amman Airport to Other Destinations
Queen Alia International Airport, also known as Amman Airport, is located around 30 km from the capital. It serves around 8 million passengers a year. Tourists often wonder how to get from the airport to Amman and other Jordanian cities. Ones take taxi or transfer, while luggage-free travelers prefer public transport.
Taxi from Amman Airport
A fare of a taxi to the capital is about 27 JOD (26 euros). Fares to downtown are fixed. You need to go to the special stand where you can get a paper where the exact price of a taxi to the place you need will be written. Give this paper to a driver. In case you go from the airport to another city, it might be better to take a transfer instead of a taxi in order to save money.
Transfer from Amman Airport

Public transport from Amman Airport
Public transportation is the best option for budget travelers. You can take a bus outside the airport. It departs twice an hour in the afternoon and once an hour in the evening. You can buy a ticket at the special kiosk. It costs around 4 JOD (5 euros), and a journey lasts 45 minutes. A bus goes to Tabarbour bus station, therefore, you might need to take a taxi or a transfer in order to get to your final destination in Amman or somewhere else. If you take a cab, insist on a taximeter.
