How to Get from Nuremberg Airport to the City Center and Other Destinations
Nuremberg Albrecht Durer Airport is the second busiest airport in Bavaria (after Munich air hub). It is located close to the city (there are only 6 km between it and central districts). A well-developed transport network allows travelers to easily reach Nuremberg and other German cities. To get to their destination, they can choose public transport, transfers, and taxis.
Taxi from Nuremberg Airport
Taxis at Nuremberg Airport rank are available round the clock. In order to find it, go outside the terminal. Also, you can go to one of the counters inside the terminal and order a car there. There, you will choose a vehicle according to your preferences, pay for the service, get a coupon, and then proceed to your taxi outside. Another way is to order a taxi by phone or on one of the special websites. Travel to Nuremberg center costs €20.
Transfer from Nuremberg Airport
If you are arriving at night and don’t want to look for a taxi near the terminal, reserving a Kiwitaxi transfer will be a good idea.
To make an order, you just need to choose a car which suits you best and make a full payment on the website or add your card to the booking. The transfer driver will meet you in the place and at the time specified by you and get you to your hotel or any other address fast and with maximum comfort. A transfer to Nuremberg will cost €40, and to Erlangen - €60.
Transfers to other German locations can also be reserved.
Public transportation from Nuremberg Airport
First, you can leave the air hub by bus. Line N32 will take you to Thon district, and Line N33 - to Nurnberg-Buch district. A one-way fare is €3. From the airport, you can also take buses to other German cities (Munich, Berlin, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Wurzburg, etc.).
The second option is the metro. The trip to the city center will take 12 minutes and will cost €3.10. Also, you can drop off at Hauptbahnhof station (Central train station), and make a change to a long-distance train there.
Note that public transport doesn’t operate at night, so in order to travel at this time of day, consider taking a taxi or a transfer.
