How to Get from Marseille Provence Airport to Marseille City Center and Other Destinations
Located 27 km away from the center of Marseille, Provence Airport is the fifth busiest French air hub in terms of passenger turnover. It serves more than 8 million people a year. To get from it to Marseille or other French cities, you can take a taxi, a transfer, or public transport.
Taxi from Marseille Airport
It is not difficult to get a taxi at the airport - one can reserve it by phone or online or take one at a stand which is near the bus stop outside the terminals. Such cars have special roof signs showing if these vehicles are available. The price for a taxi from Marseille Airport to the city is €50 at daytime and €60 at night (tariffs by official services). As for private taxi drivers, they may cheat and tell you higher rates. Besides, most local drivers speak only French.
Transfer from Marseille Airport
If you have heavy baggage and don’t want to wait for public transport or deal with the local language, traveling with Kiwitaxi will be a good option.
An economy class transfer from Marseille Airport to the city hotel will cost you €67, and this rate will not change after your order is made. Our driver will meet you with a name sign, lead you to the vehicle, and load your bags into the boot. Transfers are available round-the-clock.
On our website, you can also find transfers to other French destinations.
Public transport from Marseille Airport
The city is accessible by rail. If you choose this option, you will need to pay €5.1 for a trip. But if you have lots of bags, it will be uncomfortable for you, as you will have to make a few changes (first, you take the free shuttle to the air hub station and then go from there to St. Charles train station in the city).
Another option is to use the bus. In this case, the fare will be €8.3, and it will also take you to St. Charles. But unlike taxis and transfers, these modes of transport do not run at night (the first one stops running in the evening).
From this air hub, one can also go to other cities (for example, Avignon, Toulon, and Montpellier can be reached by train, and Aix-en-Provence - by bus).
Useful Information
The airport consists of two terminals: one operates most of the flights, while the other is meant only for low-cost ones. Inside them, one can find cafes and restaurants (some of them offer national food), ATMs, currency exchange offices, duty-free shops, a health center, baggage storage, and a few car hire companies. Other services include baby changing facilities and showers.
