Had a wonderful experience with Kiwitaxi! When I arrived, there was a nice young lady holding a sign with my name. I can’t remember her name, but she was really sweet and waited with me until my driver, Guilherme arrived. Guilherme was excellent! Very safe driver and I felt comfortable. He assisted with my baggage without me having to ask. The car was clean and he even had a cold bottle of water waiting for me. He was super polite and even messaged me wishing me a great trip! How to Get from Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont Airport (SDU) to Other Destinations

This air hub (SDU) is the second major one serving the city of Rio de Janeiro. Located two kilometers east of its downtown, the airport handles only domestic flights. As it’s situated not far from the city center, its passengers don’t have difficulties getting there. They use public transport, local taxis, or private transfers to get to their destination.

There are two types of taxis operating here: metered and fixed rate ones. The latter may be more expensive, however, they may be good in case you’re leaving the air hub at the rush hours when there are lots of traffic jams. You pay for this taxi in the arrivals area and then give your driver the voucher. If you hire a cab outside the terminal, be ready to give the driver the written name and address of your hotel, as most taxi drivers in Rio don’t speak English. On average, getting from Santos Dumont terminals to Ipanema or Copacabana costs 50 BRL (around $14). At night hours, taxi fares are higher.
