How to Get from Bucharest Airport to Other Destinations
Also known as Henri Coanda Airport, it is located in Otopeni, 16 km from the capital of Romania. It was named after Romanian aerodynamics pioneer. Tourists often search for information about how to get from the air hub to Bucharest and other cities. While ones take a ride on a taxi or bus, others prefer to book a transfer.
Taxi from Bucharest Airport
Taxi scam is very popular in Romania, therefore, be careful. Firstly, take a ticket with a number at a ticket machine. Then, wait for a cab with this number. Do not give a ticket to a taxi driver. In case of problems, you will have a proof. Check if the taximeter is turned on while getting into the cab. A normal price of a trip from the airport to Bucharest is 50 LEI (11 euros). If you choose a premium-class taxi, be ready to pay a double price.
Transfer from Bucharest Airport
More and more people prefer to reserve a transfer in advance, as they do not want to lose time in taxi lines. If you are one of them, you might want to know more about the Kiwitaxi service. We suggest different car classes, so everyone can find a suitable transfer. Our fares do not change after the booking is made. You can pay for a transfer on the website with a credit card, or in cash to a driver.
A journey to the city center will cost you 23 euros in case you choose an economy-class car. A price of a trip in the same class from the airport to Sinaia is 90 euros, and to Burgas – 240 euros.
If you prefer more comfort, you can choose a transfer in a premium-class car or a minivan. Fares can be found on the website. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
Public transport from Bucharest Airport
You can get to the capital by bus number 783. It departs from the airport to the city center every 20 minutes, and the journey takes around 40 minutes. You can also get a ride to the train station on a route 780. It runs between the airport and Bucharest every 40 minutes. A journey costs around 5 LEI (1 euro), and a ticket should be bought at a special machine.
From Bucharest, you can easily get to other cities. At night buses go rarely, therefore, it might be better to take a taxi or a transfer in order to save time.
