How to Get from Taormina to Other Destinations
Taormina is a resort town located on the eastern Sicilian coast. This charming place is one of the main tourist destinations on the island. When traveling to and from here, people use different modes of public transportation, taxis, and private transfer services.
Taxi from Taormina
As in the whole Sicily, taxis in Taormina are rather expensive. Thus, a journey to Catania or Messina will cost you 80 to 100 euros. You can order a taxi online or by making a phone call. Also, taxis can be found at one of the town ranks (for example, close to the bus and train stations). However, note that not every driver is ready to travel long distances, so if you are planning to visit some remote destination, it would be better to pre-arrange a transfer.
Transfer from Taormina
In case you need to travel late at night or go to some distant place, it would be better to consider a Kiwitaxi transfer.
An order can be easily made on our website. You select the vehicle that is the most suitable for you, specify all the necessary information, and make a payment. Once your reservation is made, the transfer price remains fixed. At the time indicated by you, you get in the car and enjoy a safe and pleasant ride. A taxi transfer for four passengers to Catania will cost 80 euros, and to its airport - 84 euros.
Also, we provide transfers to many other Italian cities and transport hubs.
Public transport from Taormina
The major destinations in Sicily can be easily reached by bus. Thus, Interbus services to Catania will cost you 5.1 euros, and to Messina - 4.3 euros.
But one can also go to the above-mentioned cities from Taormina-Giardini Naxos railway station. Train travel to both of these destinations will cost you from 4.30 euros and will last around 40 minutes.
But keep in mind that public transportation doesn’t run at night (some buses are not available even in the evening). So if you have to get somewhere at this time of day, the best option will be reserving a transfer or a taxi.
