The communication after booking had been great, via email and WhatsApp. The allocated driver, Alejandro, messaged that he would be waiting in the airport on the agreed time. Transfers from Zanzibar Airport

Zanzibar attracts many tourists with its hot climate, Stone Town, Jozani Forest, clear Indian Ocean water and many clean beaches. It is just a must-see place!

There are many destinations from Abeid Amani Karume Airport (ZNZ): Nungwi, Kiwengwa, Uroa, and others. How do you reach them without knowing the local language? Booking a transfer is the best option:

Have an easy and comfortable trip to your hotel. The driver will meet you at the air hub after the plane lands, help with your luggage, and take you right to the place you need.
Have no need to learn the local language. You will be given a voucher with all the information that might be needed. The English-speaking support service is always online for you.
Have no need to search for a currency exchange point once you arrive. You pay for the trip online after placing an order.

There is no official public transport from the air hub, so the safest way to reach your destination is by using a Kiwitaxi transfer.

The air hub is located 7 km away from City. A trip to the capital will take around 45 minutes and costs 23 USD.

Taxi from Zanzibar Airport

An official taxi can be recognized by its plates. Licensed cabs have yellow numbers on a red plate. Any other vehicles are not official.

A taxi to the capital will cost around 5 USD. Do not agree for trips that are significantly more expensive. It is possible that the drivers are manipulating prices.

There is no Uber. However, there are some mobile apps that will help you order a taxi online:

Please note that finding a taxi might be a problem if you travel with a lot of luggage or there are more than two passengers. In this case, it is better to book a transfer: you can book a minibus for up to 19 passengers with luggage.

Public Transport from Zanzibar Airport

There is no official public transport to and from the air hub. However, there is an option to use a Dala Dala. These are small minibus share taxis that are popular around the area.

The price of a Dala Dala to the capital is around 0.20 USD. It is cheap, but there is not always enough place for luggage and the vehicle is usually full of people.
