How to Get from Gatwick Airport to Other Destinations
This airport is located in West Sussex, 48 km from the British capital. This second busiest air hub of the United Kingdom handles flights from all over the world. Visitors often try to figure out the best way to get to nearby cities. Some of them recourse to a local taxi service or book a transfer, others prefer public transport. Those, who are acquainted with the area, hire a car in order to get to their final destination.
Taxi from Gatwick Airport
Taxi pick-up areas are located outside the terminals of Gatwick Airport. In high season, be prepared for lines. A taxi should have a taximeter. The average fare of a cab to the capital is 130 GBP (146 euros). It might be higher in case of traffic jams. A taxi driver has no right to quote a price.
Transfer from Gatwick Airport

A transfer in a business-class car to London will cost you 208 euros, to Brighton – 156 euros, and to Bromley – 143 euros. You can prefer cheaper comfort-class and economy-class transfers. If you travel with a group, order a minibus. A trip to London will take around 70 minutes.

Public transport from Gatwick Airport
If you are a luggage-free traveler, you might want to know more about public transportation. From Gatwick Airport you can take a train to London, Brighton, Cambridge and many other destinations. Thus, a 30-minute trip on Gatwick Express to London will cost you around 27 GBP (30 euros). This train departs every 20 minutes.
You might prefer a bus. A fare of a 90-minute journey to London is 10 GBP (11 euros). Urban transportation is not available at night, unlike taxi and transfer services.
