Plovdiv Airport: Transfers and Taxi
Transfers from Plovdiv Airport
Transfers from Plovdiv (Krumovo) Airport (PDV) are the most convenient and stress-free travel option to get to popular Bulgarian sea and ski resorts: Sveti Vlas, Albena, Pomorie, Bansko, Pamporovo, Borovets.
Pre-arranged private transfers will allow you to:
- Get to your destination as fast as possible. With a private transfer, there will be no need for you to walk to a public transport stop or wait for a taxi to arrive. The Kiwitaxi driver will meet you inside the terminal upon your arrival and lead you to the car.
- Avoid bothering with currency exchange at the air hub. By choosing a prepayment on the website, you can pay for your transfer in the desired currency.
- Forget about possible communication problems. You won’t have to speak the local language, as your driver will get all the necessary journey details ahead of time.
This is the most comfortable travel option when traveling with children or elderly people.
The airport is located 12 kilometers southeast of Plovdiv city center. The transfer will take you to the destination in 30 minutes. The trip costs 22 euros.
Taxi from Plovdiv Airport
There are five taxi companies operating at the air hub: Viailet, Taxi1, Perfect Taxi, Eco Taxi, and InterTaxi. You can order a cab via their desks, official websites, or by phone. Official cabs are metered.
The average fare from the air hub to Plovdiv is 18 BGN or 9.5 euros.
Bear in mind that tariffs are higher at night. If you get stuck in a traffic jam, the meter will keep counting (but based on the waiting time). Also, you may have difficulties finding a large vehicle on the spot, so if you are a group, it is better to choose a transfer — with Kiwitaxi, you can pre-book a spacious minibus.
Public Transport from Plovdiv Airport
Unfortunately, there is no public transport going from the air hub to the city. The nearest train station — Mavrudovo — is located 3 kilometers away from the air hub. If you don’t have large baggage, you can walk to it and then take a train to Plovdiv from there. The ticket cost is around 1.30 BGN, and the journey time is 14 minutes. Trains run every hour until 22:00.
Booking a transfer from Plovdiv Airport
You need to make your reservation at least 24 hours before your planned journey. However, even if you make it later, we will try to find an available vehicle for you.
When making a reservation, specify this information:
- the journey date and time
- the car class needed
- whether you need any extra services (a bottle of water, a child seat, an extra hour of waiting)
When your reservation is completed, you’ll receive a confirmation and a voucher via email. In the latter, you’ll find all the journey details: its date and time, the pick-up point, and the driver’s contact information.
