How to Get from Bologna City Center to Bologna Airport and Other Destinations
Bologna is a fabulous city located in the north of Italy. It is one of the most important transport hubs in the country: almost all locations on the Apennine Peninsula can be easily reached from here. To travel to or from the city, tourists use public transport, taxis, and private transfer services.
Taxi from Bologna
You can order a taxi in Bologna by phone, online, or at one of the cab ranks. Besides, you may ask your hotel reception to arrange it for you. Cars cannot be stopped on the street. An average price for a trip from the center to the airport is €20. Also, there are supplements for baggage and late night travel. Note that if your flight departs early in the morning, it is better to book a vehicle at least one day before your trip, as there are not many taxis available in Bologna at this time of day.
Transfer from Bologna
If you are going to travel at night or early in the morning and want to know the exact cost of your journey in advance, booking a transfer with Kiwitaxi will be a good choice.
Getting to the airport will cost you €40 (for 4 passengers). This rate will not change after you make a reservation. Our transfer driver will meet you at the time specified by you and take you to your desired place fast and with comfort.
You can also choose transfers to other Italian towns and cities.
Public transport from Bologna
The most convenient way to reach Bologna air hub is by Aerobus which runs from the city center. Its one-way fare is €6. At night, it is not available.
From Centrale train station, one can go to many Italian cities. Thus, Frecciarossa trains can get you to Florence (from €22.9) and Venice (from €24.9). Rail travel to Rimini will cost from €9.85, and to Modena - from €3.85. Note that not all trains operate at night, so at this time of day some destinations can be reached only by transfer or taxi.
There are also buses running from the central bus station to other cities.
Bologna is home to the oldest university in the world. Besides, it has a magnificent historic city center which is considered one of the largest in Europe. There are plenty of historic buildings in it which makes it a really great place to stroll. Thus, one should visit the Two Towers, the Fountain of Neptune, the Basilica of San Petronio, Palazzo Re Enzo, etc. Besides, the city is known for its cuisine (everyone knows the famous Bolognese sauce). Those who are keen on Italian food can attend some cooking lessons here.
