How to Get from Innsbruck Airport to Innsbruck City Center and Other Destinations
Innsbruck International Airport is 4 km far from the center of Innsbruck which is in Tyrol. One can get to Seefeld and Kitzbuhel resorts as well as to Mieming and Innsbruck at any time of day by public transport, taxi, or transfer.
Taxi from Innsbruck Airport
If you happen to be at Innsbruck Airport for the first time and do not have a clue how to get from there to Seefeld, you can order a taxi. It is possible to call the cab by phone or order it with help of special online application.
The fare for travelling by taxi from Innsbruck Airport to the ski resorts will depend on the number of passengers, luggage, the distance to the destination point and the time of day. Thus, a minimum price for a car trip from the airport will be 30 euros.
A lot of travellers believe that taxi booking is the most convenient option to travel. Nevertheless, it has some significant disadvantages. If you take a taxi with a dishonest freelance driver, the fare could increase upon arrival to the destination point. Besides, you will have to negotiate all the travel details with the operator which is not very convenient in the situation with the airport noise.
Transfer from Innsbruck Airport
For the people who like travelling it is better to order a private or a group transfer. It is cheaper to book, compared to an ordinary taxi, since the fare is fixed, that is, it will never change after booking.
One can pay for the trip online on the Kiwitaxi website. You can also pay to the driver in cash upon arrival.
If you book a transfer service from Innsbruck Airport in advance providing your flight data, our driver will be already waiting for you at the airport entrance at the specified time with a nameplate. In case of the flight delay, the driver will not leave but will wait for you to come.
All the drivers who work at Kiwitaxi are the qualified specialists with a great work experience. They have been specially trained, so they can provide a first-class service to all the clients. The driver will help you with your luggage and put it carefully in the trunk.
Kiwitaxi can offer cars with different capacity: from a car which accommodates up to three passengers and three places for the luggage - to 7 pax minibuses. Our car park has only serviceable cars which regularly have technical inspection and maintenance. All the cars have been in use for no more than 7 years.
If you are travelling with a child, please do not forget to order a special child seat when booking. Thus you can be sure not only in your own safety but also in the safety of your child.
Public Transport from Innsbruck Airport
It is possible to get from the airport to the city by bus. There is a special bus route which departs from the airport every 15 minutes and stops at the train station. The bus stop is right in front of the airport terminal. It will take about 15-20 minutes to get to Innsbruck by bus.
One can get to Seefeld resort only from Innsbruck. You need to catch the train which arrives every hour to the railway station. The travel time by train will be around 40 minutes.
The bus and train tickets are obviously cheaper than a taxi but this is the only advantage of public transport. The transfer will get you right to the place where you need to be dropped off, meanwhile, the public transport can drive you only to particular stops. It is uncomfortable to travel with children or with a great number of luggage by buses or trains. Moreover, there is no air conditioner inside, which is especially unpleasant in hot weather.
