How to Get from Fuengirola to Malaga Airport and Other Destinations
Once a fishing village, Fuengirola is one of the resort towns along Costa del Sol. The city does not only carry traces of different civilization it witnessed, but also offers a colorful holiday experience with its Christmas market, medieval market, and summer festivals. You can walk down the narrow streets and enjoy Mediterranean beaches with water sports.
Public Transport from Fuengirola
The resort is at the other end of the famous C1 train that connects Fuengirola with other coastal towns such as Benalmadena and Torremolinos to Malaga. C1 runs every 20 minutes from Fuengirola train station to the air hub. It takes 33 minutes and costs €2.70. Two minutes down the rail station, is the Portillo Bus Station. You can take the route M-113 for €2.64, and you are at the air hub in 55 minutes. Here, you can also find very frequent buses to other cities on Costa del Sol and less frequent to other inland cities. There are also 6 bus lines in Fuengirola. But the lines do not work after midnight.

In Fuengirola, taxi service has fixed prices so you are in no danger of ripping offs. But you pay the fee of €5.50 when using taxi in Fuengirola to and from the airport and sometimes a little extra if you have more than 2 bags. For this 20 minutes taxi journey, you pay €37 in total for the regular taxi tariff, and €42 for the night tariff.
