How to Get from Izmir Airport to Other Destinations
Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) is an international airport, named after the former prime minister of the country. The airport is located around 20 km from Izmir and serves around 12 million passengers a year. Tourists often wonder how to get from it to the city center or nearby cities. Ones search for information about taxi and transfer companies, while others want to know more about public transport.
Taxi from Izmir Airport
A taxi can be easily found outside the terminal. You need to negotiate on a price before the journey starts to avoid being ripped off. It might be better to choose a transfer in case you do not want to bargain. A taxi from the airport to Izmir might cost you 60 TL (11 euros). However, fares are higher at night. In case you are planning to go to Bodrum, Pamukkale or somewhere too far, it might be better to call a taxi instead of taking one at the air hub.
Transfer from Izmir Airport
A transfer is becoming the most popular way of transportation. If you do not want to waste your time while waiting for a taxi, you might be interested in it. The Kiwitaxi company is ready to organize a transfer to any Turkish city. A reliable driver will arrive on time to meet you with a name sign in the terminal.
Thus, a journey to Izmir will cost you 29 euros, to Bodrum – 101, and to Pamukkale – 155 euros, in case you take a micro-class car. If you prefer more comfortable options, you can take a comfort-class car or a minivan.

Public transport from Izmir Airport

In order to get to other cities, take a train. Check the timetables beforehand. As public transportation does not work at night, you will need to choose between taxi and transfer services.
Interesting Information
Izmir is the third largest city in Turkey. Unfortunately, the majority of its historic sites were destroyed by the Great Fire of 1922. However, even now you can see the ruins of the Roman city and visit Kadifekale, the ancient castle from the Greek period.
