How to Get from Baden-Baden to the Airport and Other Destinations

Baden-Baden is a famous German resort located 320 km of Munich and 700 km of Berlin. One can get from Baden-Baden to neighboring cities by taxi, transfer, plane or public transport – train or bus.

Taxis are the best choice for short-distance travel, especially in case you have large baggage, are traveling with small children, or don’t want to wait for public transport.

Public transport from Baden-Baden

When deciding how to get to Baden-Baden or from it with minimum costs, consider public transport. There are regular buses and trains running from the resort.

In Baden-Baden, there is a regional airport called Baden Airpark (located 15 km from the town) which handles charter flights. Also, there are daily flights to Berlin departing from this air hub. If you need another direction, you’ll have to go to Strasbourg Airport (60 km) or Stuttgart Airport (100 km). One can reach these airports by train or bus. 

There are high-speed and regional trains running from Baden-Baden train station to many cities of Germany and Europe. For example, you can get to the French city of Strasbourg in just one hour. It is easier to reach the train station by one of the local buses which run through the town center (Leopoldsplatz). These are the routes №№ 201, 205, and 206. The bus fare is 2–3 euros, and tickets can be bought from special ticket machines at the bus stops. But note that these machines often don’t accept banknotes – they usually accept coins only.

If you are traveling in a group, it is better to buy the Baden-Württemberg Ticket. This ticket is valid throughout the State of Baden-Württemberg for all means of transport except high-speed trains. Up to 5 people can travel with it. If you’re traveling around the town a lot, it’s better to purchase a KVV day ticket. It costs 6 euros and is valid during 24 hours for all buses and trams.

This famous German resort is located in the southwest of Germany, in the State of Baden-Württemberg, on the western edge of the Black Forest. Baden-Baden has several thermal springs famous since Roman times.
