All went well! Good communication on whatapp and on a phone with confirm. Friendly driver, good clean car, and on-time. Also safe driving, would book my transfer here again Recommend! Marina
I was pleasantly surprised that my return ride was GREAT. I had some problems with my first ride from the Istanbul Airport into town and had planned to also handle the return trip with Kiwitaxi. This drive and this trip was very good. The vehicle was clean, the driver arrived 10 minutes early, was very helpful in getting our bags into the vehicle, was polite, spoke Turkish, Arabic, and English. He was a safe driver, did NOT use his phone during the trip, was friendly but also was appropriately quiet. It was a good last impression that was left. VanettaA
All good - our driver, Anthony, was early to collect us, helpful with our luggage, and pleasant to chat to en route to the airport. Would definitely recommend this service. Carole P

How to Get from Bucharest City Center to the Airport and Other Destinations

You can get from Bucharest to other cities and airports by public transport, taxi, or using a private transfer.

Taxi from Bucharest

If you are bad at orienting in unfamiliar areas or don’t know how to get to or from Bucharest by public transport, take a taxi. In Bucharest, a car can be booked via phone or online app. To do that, it is better to purchase a SIM-card from one of the local providers: Vodafone, Orange, or Cosmorom. Otherwise, the mobile Internet and phone calls will be very expensive for you.

The price for a taxi ride to Sofia Airport (Bulgaria), Ruse or Varna will depend on the distance to the destination, the time of day and the amount of baggage. Also, don’t forget that you will need some additional time for crossing the border.

Transfer from Bucharest

If you wish to get from Bucharest to Sofia Airport in Bulgaria with maximum comfort, you should choose a private transfer. Transfer prices are known in advance and depend only on the car class you choose. The driver will meet you in the appointed place at the time specified by you, help you carry your suitcases to the car and carefully put them in the trunk.

The trip duration will be about 5 hours and 50 minutes, and the cost - 222 euros for an Economy-class car. By booking a transfer, you’ll be able to leave the airport or hotel faster, as you won’t have to waste your time in a taxi queue.

Having taken a transfer in Bucharest, you can also go to the sea resort of Sunny Beach located in the east of Bulgaria. The trip will take 5 hours and 40 minutes, and will cost you around 203 euros for an Economy-class vehicle.

If you are planning a ride from the airport or railway station, the driver will meet you at the entrance with a nameplate in his/her hands. In case you flight is delayed, he/she will definitely wait for you.

It is better to book a transfer in advance. An order can be made right on the website of the Kiwitaxi company. Using a private transfer service, you can go to Henri Coanda International Airport and some points in Bulgaria - for example, Varna.

Public transport from Bucharest

To get from Bucharest to the resort of Sunny Beach, you can also use public transport – a bus or a train. The distance between these two points is 320 km. There is a direct bus going from Bucharest - it departs from Bucuresti stop. Its travel time is 10 hours and 15 minutes, and its fare is from 15 to 22 euros. This bus runs four times per week.

Also, you can travel from Bucharest to Sunny Beach by train. However, there is no direct route to the resort, so you’ll have to make some changes. First, you need to take the train at Bucuresti Nord Gara A station and get to Constanta station. The train runs every 15 minutes. At this station, get on the bus and go to Mangalia stop, then change to Mercado Sud bus and go to Varna stop. There, change to Avtoekspres bus and reach the final stop – Sunny Beach. The total journey time will be around 8 hours, while the total ticket cost – 34–48 euros.

If Sunny Beach is not the only place you’re going to visit, you can also go to other resorts. Public transport can also take you to Sofia Airport.
