How to Get from Luxembourg Airport to Other Destinations
Being one and only air hub of this little country, it is located in the village of Findel. It is located 6 km from the capital and handles about 3 million passengers per year. Visitors often wonder how to get from the airport to the center of Luxembourg and nearby German, French and Belgian cities. Some of them take public transport, while others prefer taxi or transfer services.
Taxi from Luxembourg Airport
A taxi station is located outside the airport. A trip to Luxembourg will cost you around 25 euros. At night and weekends be ready to pay around 30 euros for a taxi. If you are heading to other countries, it might be better to choose a transfer instead of a taxi. By this way, you will save your money, as the price will be fixed. Moreover, taxi drivers might not agree to go from the airport to other countries.
Transfer from Luxembourg Airport
If you like planning your trips in advance, you might be interested in ordering a door-to-door transfer. The Kiwitaxi company is ready to provide you with a car. A driver will arrive on time to meet you with a name sign in the terminal.
A 20-minute transfer from the airport to the city center will cost you 36 euros in a micro-class car, and 44 euros in an economy-class car. A price of a trip in an economy-class car to Trier is 120 euros. If you are traveling with a big group, you might be interested in minibuses. A price of a transfer in a minibus for 7 persons to Luxembourg is 76 euros, and to Trier – 177 euros.
We also provide cars to Metz, Brussels, and other nearby cities. More information about our destinations and fares can be found on the Kiwitaxi website. Our tariffs do not change after the reservation is confirmed.
Public transport from Luxembourg Airport
From here, you can get not only to the capital of the country but also to nearby countries. A price of a trip to the center of Luxembourg by bus lines 16 and 29 is 2 euros. They depart every 10-30 minutes.
A bus to Trier departs every 2 hours. A 30-minute trip will cost you 5 euros. There are also buses to Metz, Nancy, and Marche-en-Famenne. Check schedules beforehand.
If you arrive at the airport at night, decide beforehand which taxi or transfer company to choose – public transport is not available at that time.
