Transfers vs. Other Ways to Get from Valencia Airport
International Airport of Valencia is among top ten the largest air hubs in Spain and serves around 5 million people a year. The airport building consists of three terminals: the regional, T1, and T2. The terminal T1 is the main and even if you arrive at T2, you will have to go to T1 to claim your baggage.
Besides Valencia, tourists also go to neighboring Denia, Cullera, and Calp as well as to Costa Blanca or Benidorm.
How to get from Valencia Airport to Valencia city center or the other way round
The airport is located in the town of Manises, 8 km away from Valencia. You can get to the city center by:
- metro. You need the line 3 (to Rafelbunyol) or 5 (to Maritim Serreria) to get to Xativa station, which is located in the heart of the city, near the Northern train station. During a day, trains run every 10 minutes. On weekdays, the line 3 operates from 05:29 to 22:29, and the line 5 — from 06:20 to 22:05;
- AeroBus shuttle bus. It runs to the city center from 06:00 to 22:00 with the interval of 20 minutes;
- city bus № 150, which runs from 05:25 to 23:55. The interval between buses is 20 minutes;
- taxi. It can be taken on the spot or booked via the app;
- transfer. It should be booked online in advance.
Bus tickets can be bought when boarding, and metro tickets - at ticket offices or ticket machines. If you arrive closer to midnight, the most convenient option for you will be a transfer or taxi.
Transfer vs. Taxi from Valencia Airport (taken on the spot or booked via the app)
Advantages of a private transfer
The driver will not cancel your order and will not be late. A taxi driver from an app may easily cancel your order or arrive later than you expected. When booking a transfer, you receive a voucher, which guarantees that the car will arrive at the appointed time.
No need to wait for a car. You will have to stand in a line for a while before getting in a taxi: Valencia Airport is one of the busiest airports in Spain. In case of the transfer, you leave the air hub as soon as your flight arrives.
You can choose a suitable car. If you are traveling in a big company, it might be difficult to find a taxi that will admit all of you. In Kiwitaxi, you can choose a car of a suitable class and capacity, for example a minibus for 7 passengers.
Disadvantage of a private transfer
12–20 euro more expensive. You can get by taxi from Valencia Airport to the city center for 15–23 euro. A transfer will cost 35 euro.
Transfer from Valencia Airport vs. Shuttle bus, Bus, and Metro
Advantages of a private transfer
No need to plan a route — you simply get in a car and travel to your hotel.
Travel even at night. The last bus departs from the airport at 23:55, by metro you can only travel until 22:29, and shuttle buses run until 22:00. The Kiwitaxi transfer is at your disposal round the clock.
Book in your language without mistakes. In order to buy a ticket on the metro at the ticket machine, you will have to recall everything you know in Spanish. If you buy a ticket to the wrong zone, you will not be able to return or change it. Kiwitaxi website is available in 5 languages including English and provides a 24/7 support service, which will help you to book a transfer from Valencia Airport to the city.
Disadvantage of a private transfer
More expensive even for a group. Ticket on the metro from the zone 4, where the airport is located, will cost 4,9 euro (together with a transport card worth 1 euro). You can get there by shuttle bus for 2,5 euro, while a city bus fare is 1,5 euro.
