Why do tourists book private transfers in Paris?

Why do people book transfers in Paris

Transfer is a transportation service which meets and brings you exactly where you asked: a Kiwitaxi driver meets you at the airport (as close to the Arrivals as possible), at the hotel reception or at the exactly given address, helps you with your luggage and brings you fast- track to your destination.

You can pre-order inexpensive taxi transfer to the city center or to the airport, comfortable car transfer for the family with children, Economy minivan for a tourist group or a Luxury transfer. The transfer cost in Paris is fixed at the time of pre-order and never rises : either when the driver is waiting for the passenger, when the stop is necessary, or because of traffic jams.

Customer feedback

Superorganized in every detail. ....The information before, upgrading the car without extra charge in advance, the fast and nice service at the pick up place and the reasonable price!
Ten out of ten. Both drivers were on time and professional. Would definitely use Kiwi taxis again. Communication was also good Keeping us informed of driver contact details
The driver was waiting for us at the exit, even with the plane arriving late. He was very polite, drove well, we could understand each other perfectly in english (even that it was not our first language). Everything went well and I definetly recommend the service.

Many of them continue their journey across France to the cities of Fontainebleau, Marseille, Rouen, Nice, Lyon. And families with children usually travel to Disneyland.

Airports in Paris

There are three airports in Paris: Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Beauvais-Tillé Airport. Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport is located 25 km away from Paris. This is the main airport in France as well as one of the biggest air hubs in Europe and the world. Orly Airport receives, as a rule, domestic flights. It is located 15 km away from the city. Air hub Beauvais accommodates low cost flights and is about 80 km away from Paris.

How to get from Paris to the airport, railway station or to neighbouring cities

There are many variants to get around, because the transport connection with airports is well-developed. You can get to the city by:

  • buses. By the way, it is the only public transport, which runs from Beauvais airport to the city;
  • commuter trains RER. They and inter-city trains SNCF TGV run from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Paris Nord Train Station (Gare du Nord). Orly terminals can be reached by express trains OrlyVal. They depart from the station Antony (RER);
  • group shuttles. From Charles de Gaulle shuttles are performed by Roissy and AirFrance 2/4, from Orly - by Le Bus Direct (there is a direct route to Charles de Gaulle);
  • tram № 7, which goes to Orly Airport. If you are travelling from Paris center, you will have to change to metro;
  • Paris taxi. It can be ordered by phone or via the app;
  • transfer. It can be booked online via internet.

Public transport operates approximately from 5am till midnight. If you are travelling later, you can get to air hubs Charles de Gaulle and Orly by night buses Noctilien (from 01:00 to 05:00).

Planes arrive at Beauvais only before 23:30, so one can get to the metro station Porte Maillot by buses (bus timetable is bound to flights arrivals/departures). However, make sure to have time after that to change to metro in order to get to your hotel (metro closes at 00:30).

If you are heading to Disneyland, plan in advance how to get to Paris in the evening.

Transfers in Paris vs. Trains

Advantages of a private transfer

Without changes. Train will not meet you at the entrance of your hotel - at best, you will have to change only once to metro or bus. On the contrary, a transfer driver will drive you directly from your hotel to the destination.

Price is the same when you travel with friends. RER ticket costs around 10 euro per person, OrlyVal train ticket - 9,3 euro. Metro ticket will cost you additional 1,8 euro. If you are travelling in a group of four, you can get from Paris by a private transfer for the same money.

Disadvantage of a private transfer

More expensive, if you are travelling in pair: getting by train (plus metro) will cost you 22,2-23,6 euro.

Transfers in Paris vs. Bus, Shuttle bus and Tram

Advantages of a private transfer

Faster. A trip by public transport to Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports may take from 40 minutes to 2 hours. By transfer, you can get to your destination in half an hour. Whereas you may spend about 2 hours on the travel to Beauvais, transfer will bring you there in 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Cheaper than shuttles to Charles de Gaulle and Orly. If there are three or four of you, it is more beneficial to order a car with Kiwitaxi. Transfer to these destinations costs 50 euro, whereas one shuttle bus ticket costs around 11–21 euro.

Disadvantages of a private transfer

More expensive than buses or trams. Bus ticket can be bought for 6-8 euro, tram ticket to Orly - for 1,8 euro (metro trip will cost the same sum).

More expensive than shuttle buses to Beauvais, which costs 16 euro.
