Public Transport from Cairo Airport to Pyramids

There are three options:

1. Metro line 2: This could be taken although it doesn’t reach the Pyramids. You are to stop at Giza metro station and then take a taxi to your destination.

2. CTA buses: The CTA buses are white with CTA printed on the side. Parked at Heliopolis, they make departures at 20-minute interval; make a stop at the Abdel Menem Riyad Station in Midan Tahrir, before proceeding to Giza. It is cheap, about 2 LE (€0.14),

3. Micro buses: You can board at the bus station beneath the overhead road. Alight from the bus when you reach the Pyramids. The downside is there is no fixed time for the bus to move, and so you may wait a long time. The routes taken are also complex and are not a good choice for female tourists traveling alone.

About the Route

The road distance from the air hub to the Pyramids is 32.4 km. You can be taken along Pyramids road or King Faisal Street. Both are parallel, graced with beautiful scenery, with Giza Square and the pyramids at either side.
