How to Get from Agadir Airport to City Center and Other Destinations
Al Massira Airport is an international air terminal located 20 km from Agadir – a major city in southwest Morocco. Recently, the destination has become popular with international tourists. If you’re arriving at Al Massira and want to know how to get to Agadir downtown or some other nearby place, you’ll find several transportation tips in this article.
Taxi from Agadir Airport
One will find cabs parked outside the arrivals hall. Usually, they are ordinary 4-wheeled cars with a taxi sign on the roof. There’s an officially fixed rate for trips to the city center – 200 dirhams, plus 20 dirhams per each piece of luggage, which makes in total 20-22 euros. The taxi trip takes around 40 minutes depending on road traffic. A journey to Marrakesh will cost 100-120 euros and last 3 hours. Local taxi drivers like driving up prices and passengers have to bargain hard.
Transfer from Agadir Airport
You may prepare your trip from the airport in advance when planning your holidays. There’s a variant of pre-ordering a private transfer - you book a car beforehand at a fixed fare to set off from the air hub as soon as you’re ready to go.
At Kiwitaxi, the order can be made via the website. You should provide your flight number, an exact address in Agadir, indicate a number of passengers and order child seats if needed. Depending on a car class you choose, a taxi transfer to the city center will cost from 23 euros. The travel time will make 40 minutes or less. A fare for a 3-hour taxi transfer to Marrakesh starts from 95 euros while getting to Essaouira by Kiwitaxi costs from 85 euros and takes 3 hours and 45 minutes.
On a day of your arrival, a Kiwitaxi transfer driver will track your flight updates to timely meet you in the airport with a name sign. After helping you with suitcases, they’ll safely bring you to the destination. You’ll enjoy a professional and smooth transfer ride.
Public Transport from Agadir Airport
The airport provides no public transport. A bus 22 departs from the main road (in a short walk from the air hub) to Inezgane – Agadir suburb. There, one can take another bus (20, 24, 28) going to central Agadir. The whole trip will cost you around 1 euro and take 1-1,5 hours.
Local buses have either little space for luggage or no designated space at all. Remember that public transport doesn’t operate at night hours, unlike taxi and transfer services available round the clock.
Information
Al Massira Airport is the third busiest air hub in Morocco. It handles around 1,5 million passengers annually and serves over 30 airlines.
