How to Get from Positano to the Nearest Airport and Other Destinations
Positano is a small but very beautiful resort place located on the Amalfi Coast, Italy. Tourists heading to this place usually arrive at Naples Airport and railway station. In order to get to or from here, they choose public transportation, a transfer, or a taxi.
Taxi from Positano
One can order a taxi in Positano by phone, online, or on the spot. Note that in high season it can be more difficult to find an available car on the street, so booking in advance will be a good idea.
The average price for a taxi to Naples (whether it is the air hub or the central train station) is around 120 euros. But as narrow and winding roads of Positano often cause traffic jams, some taxi drivers may demand an extra charge for being stuck in them. So it is better to discuss the price before travel.
Transfer from Positano
If you prefer planning your trip beforehand and want to know the exact price of your journey in advance, a Kiwitaxi will be the best travel option.
Once you make a booking, the price will never change. Thus, the cost of a private transfer to the closest airport will be 108 euros. If you are a group of several people, you may choose a minibus transfer. Our website is available in several languages, and our support service is at your disposal 24/7.
Besides, you may order a transfer to other locations such as Salerno, Sorrento, Rome, etc.
Public transport from Positano
There are no trains running in this place. In order to reach Naples, you first need to take the bus to Sorrento (its fare is 2.20 to 16 euros depending on its validity). Keep in mind that in high season buses may be packed and it may be difficult to board one. In Sorrento, you need to change to the train to Naples (its fare is 3.6 euros). After arriving there, go to the central railway station or the airport.
Water transport is also rather popular in Positano. Thus, in summer, you can reach other resorts and cities by ferry or motorboat.
Useful Information
The bright and cozy town of Positano is located at the foot of Lattari Mountains which shelter it from the northern winds and thus make the climate here mild and dry. This place attracts tourists with its calm atmosphere, crystal clear sea, and wonderful sandy beaches. Here, one can take part in an underwater excursion, ride a horse, go sailing, or take a boat trip to the nearby resorts or the island of Capri. Also, lots of festivals are held here. For example, one of the brightest annual events is Ballet Festival.
