How to Get from Protaras to Other Destinations

Visitors often wonder, how to get from here to other Cypriot cities. Ones prefer public transport, while others try to find out, which transfer or taxi service is more convenient for them.
Taxi from Protaras
There are several taxi stands here. A cab to Larnaca will cost you around 50 euros, and to Limassol - around 100 euros, prices are higher at night. The travel time is 45 minutes and 1.5 hours respectively. There are official taxi tariffs, so it is better to ask about the possible fare before the trip starts. Sometimes it is possible to negotiate a lower price. If you do not want to bargain with a taxi driver, make sure that the taximeter is turned on in order not to pay a sky-high amount of money at the end of a journey.
Transfer from Protaras

Public transport from Protaras
A direct bus line 711 from Protaras to Larnaca departs every 2-4 hours. The journey takes 2 hours and the ticket costs around 5 euros. In case there is no direct route at the time you need, you can take a bus from Protaras to Paralimni, and make a change there in order to get to Larnaca. The price will be the same, but the journey will take more time.
In case you go to Limassol, be ready to spend 5 hours on buses and make changes. It will cost you around 12 euros. Public transport does not run at night which is not the case of transfer or taxi.
Unfortunately, Protaras does not have many attractions besides beaches. If you like want to see the panorama of a town and take breathtaking pictures, do not miss the chance to visit the Church of Profitis Elias, located on the hill.
