How to Get to Mayrhofen
Mayrhofen is a ski resort in the state of Tyrol, Austria. It is an ideal place for experienced skiers, who come to this town almost all year round. They often wonder how to get there from the nearest airport and cities. Some of them take a taxi, while others want to save money and time and choose a transfer. Budget travelers prefer public transportation.
Taxi to Mayrhofen
You can easily take a taxi outside Innsbruck Airport. A 1-hour journey will cost you around 150 euros. However, the fare depends on a taximeter and can be higher. If you are planning to go to the resort from Munich, we advise you to order a transfer to save money. A taxi from Franz Josef Strauss air hub will cost you around 300 euros. However, German drivers might refuse to go to Austria.
Transfer to Mayrhofen

Public transport to Mayrhofen
Unfortunately, there is no direct public transport between Innsbruck Airport and Mayrhofen. Firstly, take a bus to the station, where you can buy tickets for a train. You will need to make a change at Jenbach. The whole journey will take around 2 hours and cost 15 euros.
If you arrive at Munich, take a train or a bus to the city center. Then, take another train. You will need to make 1-3 changes during your 3-hour journey. The average price of such a trip is 25 euros.
Check the schedules beforehand and plan your journey. Urban transportation is not available at night, therefore, you will need to take a taxi or a transfer in order to get to the resort.

Even though you are not an advanced skier, you can spend your vacation at Mayrhofen, as the town offers a great variety of entertainments, including ice skating, sleigh rides, and horse riding. There are also skiing schools, where both adults and children can study.
