Berlin Schönefeld Airport: Transfers and Taxi
Transfers from Berlin Schönefeld Airport
The capital of Germany has many sights to offer. But how do you get to the city center or any other destination if you arrive late at night or do not know anything about the country? A transfer from Berlin SXF Airport will help you reach any place: Tegel air hub, Potsdam, Magdeburg, Bad Saarow, Dresden, and many other destinations.
If you arrive at Schönefeld, why should you choose transfers?
It’s safe and comfortable. Kiwitaxi works with professional drivers who know all the local routes. The vehicles are clean and cozy.
Leave the air hub at any time. Public transport does not work at night, and drivers, which are not always available, charge higher fares. With Kiwitaxi, you can depart whenever you need and you pay a fixed price when a trip is booked.
Avoid getting lost. You will not be misunderstood by a driver and won’t have to search for the routes yourself. When a Kiwitaxi trip is booked, all the information is written in advance. Also, you get a voucher with all the trip info. If you need any help, the English-speaking support service is always online.
The air hub is 23 km away from the city centre. A transfer will take you there in 40 minutes. The trip will cost 63 Euros.
Taxi from Berlin Schönefeld Airport
Cabs at this air hub work all the time. It is quite easy to find one. The official cars are colored white or beige and have a classic taxi sign in their roofs. Sometimes, passengers have to wait for a few minutes while they find a free cab. This depends on the traffic.
A taxi from Schönefeld will take you more than 40 minutes to reach the city. A one-way trip will cost 48 Euros. If you take an XL taxi, you have to additionally pay 5 Euro for each passenger after the fourth person.
Please note that if you travel with a lot of luggage or a group of people, finding a suitable taxi will be difficult. Moreover, the final price that you will have to pay might be much higher than the initial fare.
Public Transport
The city center can be reached by bus or train. Both options are comfortable and not very expensive.
- The X7 Express for 3.40 Euro. Tickets must be bought from machines in the air hub or in a ticket office. There are also other busses, but this is the fastest option. It departs from the railway station that is located right in front of terminal L. The X7 Express departs every 10 minutes and reaches the city in 30 minutes. Keep in mind that it is unavailable from 1:15 am to 5:30 am.
- The S9 Train for 3.40 Euro. Tickets must be bought for the ABC tariff zone. The train station can be found in front of terminal L. The S9 train departs every 5-20 minutes. During workdays, it is unavailable from 1:30 am to 4:30 am. It will take around half an hour to reach the city.
So, if you arrive at night, public transport is not the best option.
