How to Get from Rimini to the Airport and Other Destinations
This resort on the Adriatic coast is the largest and most popular holiday destination in Italy. No idea how to get to Rimini or from it to the state of San Marino, the cities of Florence and Venice, Milan Malpensa and Federico Fellini Airports, as well as Bologna Airport? You have three travel options to choose from: public transport, a taxi, or a private transfer.
Taxi from Rimini
There is no practice in Italy to catch a taxi in the streets, so if you don’t want to use a phone to order a car, you will have to go to a special rank.
One can also order a taxi using an official mobile app. With the help of it, you’ll get the information about parking lots, fares, and numbers which you can call in order to book a vehicle.
Cars belonging to official Rimini taxi services can be easily distinguished from those belonging to private drivers: the first ones are white-colored and have the ‘Servizo Pablico’ sign on them. Also, these vehicles have checkers on their roofs and phone numbers on their doors.
With a taximeter, the trip will be a little cheaper. That is the reason why many drivers don’t like using it. So, if you want to save money on your journey, you should insist on using a meter.
The average taxi tariff in Rimini is the following: calling a car will cost you 2 euros, the starting fare and the first three km – 7-8 euros, and 1 euro - for every next km.
If you need to get to the airport, the cost of 1 km will increase to 3 euros. Besides, you will have to pay 1 euro extra for each baggage unit, and at nighttime (from 22:00 to 06:00), the fare increases by 30%. At night, many drivers offer a 10%-discount to single women.
The trip from Rimini to Federico Fellini Airport by taxi will cost you around 15-20 euros, and getting to San Marino will cost you 50 euros.
If you order a car by phone, don’t forget that you will have to pay not only for your journey but also for the distance the driver covered to get to you. So, it is better to take a taxi which is the nearest to you. You can see the location of cars on a special website.
As a rule, Italian taxi drivers don’t speak English. So in order to avoid any difficulties during the trip, it is better to have your drop-off address written on a paper sheet.
Transfer from Rimini
Prefer maximum comfort and safety during travel? We suggest that you book a private transfer.
A Kiwitaxi vehicle will take you to Bologna Airport in just 1 hour and 15 minutes. The trip cost will be around 191 euros for an Economy-class car and around 203 euros for a minibus for up to 7 passengers and 7 baggage units.
If you need to reach the state of San Marino, you can also book a transfer from Rimini. Our driver will take you to the destination in just 50 minutes, and the trip will cost you 62-99 euros depending on the car class you choose.
You can book a transfer on the Kiwitaxi website in advance. Here, you can see prices for all car classes. Also, you can choose a car which is most suitable for you in terms of price and passenger and baggage capacity.
A Kiwitaxi vehicle will take you not only to one of the popular destinations presented on the website, but also to any location within the country and outside it, including train stations, airports, beaches, and other tourist places. Public transport from Rimini
One can also get to Rimini Federico Fellini Airport by bus. Buses run every 30 minutes and stop right at the entrance of the terminal. The ticket will cost you around 1.2 euros, and the trip will take about 30 minutes.
One can reach Milan Malpensa Airport only with changes. There are two ways to get to the air hub: by train or by bus. If you prefer traveling by rail, you need to go to the city railway station and take a train to Bologna. There, you’ll need to change to a train running to Milan. In order to get from Milan to the airport, take a commuter train. The total travel time will be about 3.5 hours. The price for train tickets is 15-28 euros, and the commuter train fare is 4-13 euros.
If you choose bus travel, you will get to Milan Malpensa Airport with only one change. First, you need to get to Bologna and then change to a direct bus to the airport. The total travel time is about 7 hours and 15 minutes, and the trip from Bologna to the airport will cost you 13-23 euros.
One can get from Rimini to San Marino directly by bus which runs twice a day. The bus reaches the city of Fiorina in just 37 minutes.
