Montreal Airport: Transfers and Taxi
Transfers from Montreal Airport
Pre-arranged transfers from Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) are the most convenient and hassle-free option to get to the most popular destinations in the Canadian province of Quebec: Pointe Calumet, Mont-Tremblant, Trois-Rivieres, Longueuil, etc.
Here are some benefits of using the Kiwitaxi service:
- No waiting upon arrival. You won’t waste your time at the bus stop or in a line at the cab rank: the driver will pick you up strictly at the time specified in your reservation.
- The opportunity to select the perfect car for you. We offer several car classes — from Economy to Minibus, so you will find the vehicle that suits all your travel needs.
- No need to buy the local currency. You can make a prepayment with your credit card in the preferred currency and thus avoid buying Canadian dollars on the spot.
This is the most stress-free transport option when traveling with children or elderly people. If you travel with small children, don’t forget to add child car seats to your booking.
The air hub is located 20 kilometers southwest of the city center. The private transfer reaches the city in approximately 50 minutes. The price for the ride is 90 USD.
Taxi from Montreal Airport
Several taxi companies service the air hub area. There are two types of taxis they offer — standard taxis and limousines. To take a cab, go to the stand near the central exit (on the Arrivals level). Fares are metered for all destinations, except for the city center. Taxi drivers accept credit cards.
The fixed rate to downtown is 41 CAD or 30 USD (for a standard cab).
Standard taxis at the rank are usually sedans, so in case you are a group, you will not find a car that will accommodate all of you. Booking with Kiwitaxi will help you avoid this problem: on our website, you can pre-book a minibus for 7 or 10 passengers. Also, with us, you will not have to wait in a line for cabs.
Public Transport from Montreal Airport
You can also reach the city using the express bus line 747. It reaches downtown (Berri-UQAM Station) in 45-70 minutes (depending on the traffic). The ticket costs 10 CAD and is valid for 24 hours for all forms of public transport. You can buy tickets from ticket vending machines on the international arrivals level or right from the driver (prepare the exact amount and coins only). The stop can be found on the Arrivals level. The waiting time is 25 minutes.
There are also some regional shuttles running to other Canadian cities (Ottawa, Gatineau, Mont-Tremblant).
Buses may be packed, especially during rush hours, so they’re not a good option if you travel with small children or plenty of baggage.
Booking a Transfer from Montreal Airport
The minimum booking time is 24 hours before the journey. But we will try to find an available car for you even if there’s less time left.
When reserving, you need to:
- specify the date and time of your journey
- select the preferred vehicle class
- specify extra services if needed.
Once your reservation is completed, you will receive an email with a confirmation and a voucher. In the voucher, you will find: the date and time of your journey, the meeting point, and the driver’s contact information.
