Taxi in South Africa is quite comfortable and inexpensive. Some taxis have taximeters. In other cases, you should negotiate the price with the taxi driver. We do not recommend using Uber, as local taxi drivers are very aggressive towards it. For example, once Uber cars were blocked from the access to the airport, and many people were late for their flights. Under any circumstances, do not try to hail cars. It is not accepted in South Africa. Most likely, only criminals will respond to that. It is dangerous not only for your valuables but also for your life.

How far in advance should I book a transfer in South Africa?

The timing depends on the vehicle class.

Premium class vehicles or Minibus for 10, 13, 16 or 19 pax should be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
