Transfer in Japan
Japan is an island state in East Asia. It is located in the Pacific Ocean to the east of the Sea of Japan, China, North and South Korea, and Russia. Tokyo is the capital city. The most famous landmarks of this city are Happo-en, the garden of eight landscapes, the Yoyogi park, the Alley Hamarikyu on the shores of the Tokyo Bay, and the Buddhist temple Senso-ji. If you want to admire the cherry blossom, you should visit the Imperial Park, as well as Ueno, Koganei, and Sumida parks. In the vicinity of Tokyo, you should definitely go to the Nikko National Park with Lake Tudenzi and the waterfalls of Kegon and Shirakumo. It is almost obligatory to visit the Holy Gate of the Itsukushima Shrine on the island of Miyajima, as well as the famous Mount Fuji. The excursion to the Pearl Farm would also be quite entertaining. Okinawa (the Ryukyu archipelago) is, probably, the main sea resort in the country. It has 160 picturesque islands, 40 of which are uninhabited.
In order to travel around Japan, you can use bus service, trains, metro, shuttles (from the airport), taxi or transfer. Metro, however, may seem very difficult to understand for a foreigner, moreover, the fare of the trip is expensive.
The second way of getting to the needed destination, whether it is airport or hotel, in Japan is a taxi. Note, that in Tokyo, you will be able to know the cost of the trip only when you reach your destination: all taxicabs are equipped with taxi meters. Prices are quite high, compared with other countries. In addition, the night tariff is 30% more expensive. But the biggest problem is the language barrier. Only few taxi drivers know English, so explaining where you want to go will not be easy.
Therefore, the transfer seems a more convenient way to travel. First, the price of the trip is known in advance and it cannot be changed after the booking. How do I book a transfer in Japan?
Enter the departure location in the “From” field and the destination in the “To” field. You can enter the name of the place or specify the exact address. The drop-down suggestions will make the search faster and easier.
Then, click on the “View Prices” button. Select the required transfer class and click "Book" to continue with the booking.
How far in advance should I book a transfer in Japan?
The timing depends on the vehicle class.
Premium class vehicles or Minibus for 10, 13, 16 or 19 pax should be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
Standard vehicles (Micro, Economy, Comfort, Minivan 4 pax, Minibus 7 pax) should be booked at least 16 hours prior to your trip.
If you don't have that much time, you can book an urgent transfer. We will inform you as soon as possible whether we can provide the service or not.
What should I do if my flight to Japan is delayed?
As soon as you find out that your flight is delayed, please inform your driver by calling the phone number provided to you, contacting Customer Support via e-mail at support@kiwitaxi.com, by using the online chat on our website, or by calling +442080682801.
Provide the order number and the new arrival time.
What should I do if my flight to Japan arrives early?
If your flight arrives early, your driver may not be at the meeting point with a nameplate yet. Please wait for the driver at the meeting point indicated on the voucher.
You can also contact the driver by phone or SMS to speed up your meeting at the airport.
Important note: If possible, do not leave the airport with a local taxi service, as we will not be able to refund you.
How do I find my driver before my transfer in Japan?
Important note: Your driver will meet you with a nameplate displaying the first and last names you provided during the booking.
For airport transfers, the driver will meet you at the arrivals area exit. It is located after the passport control and the baggage claim areas.
For hotel transfers, the driver will wait in the lobby.
Detailed meet-up instructions can be found in your trip confirmation voucher. It will also include the driver’s telephone number.
