How to Get to Klosters
Klosters is a small but rather famous Swiss village situated in the Prattigau valley, the canton of Graubunden. This place is a magnificent ski resort located at an altitude of 1,200 m above sea level. It’s included in the Best of the Alps collection and is Prince Charles’s favorite winter destination. If you’re wondering about how to reach this amazing village, there are a few travel options for you to choose: taxis, transfers, and public transport.
Taxi to Klosters
Many travelers decide to take a taxi to reach Klosters as this is a fast and rather comfortable option. At airports, cabs can be taken from special ranks in front of arrival zones. Also, taxis are often booked through various websites or ordered via phone. On average, a standard sedan cab from Zurich air hub (150 km) costs €290, and from Geneva one (420 km) - €750. Note that not all Swiss taxi drivers speak English. Also, not all of them will be ready to cover long distances. If you have large ski equipment with you, it might also be difficult to find a spacious vehicle.
Transfer to Klosters
Another comfortable and hassle-free way to get to Klosters is using a pre-ordered private taxi transfer. With this option, you won’t have to worry about possible language problems: the Kiwitaxi site is available in English and there’s an English-speaking customer support. Also, you won’t have to explain anything to your transfer driver as he/she will already know your final address. If you have lots of ski equipment, you may easily book a spacious transfer such as a minivan or a minibus. If you’re traveling with your child, you may order a transfer with a child seat. The price for a Micro-class trip from Zurich Airport is €357. Our transfer trips are fixed and don’t change once a reservation is made.
Public Transport to Klosters
A very budget-friendly option to get to Klosters is using public transport. Travel to the village from Geneva Airport by train will cost you 124 CHF (€108.5) for a 2nd-class ticket. The same class rail journey from Zurich air hub will cost you 53 CHF (€46.4). In both cases, be ready for two changes.
There’s also a bus running to the resort from Kloten air hub during ski season (from December to early April). A one-way adult fare is around €60.
Keep in mind that these services stop operating at night. At night hours, one can reach the resort only by taxi or private transfer.
The resort of Klosters is great for family holidays. It’s rather calm and quiet and offers plenty of entertainments for children.
