Malta is an island country in the Mediterranean Sea located south of Sicily. The capital of the country is Valletta, and its population lives only on the islands of Malta, Comino, and Gozo. Winter here is rather mild and summer is long and hot, so it is no surprise that many tourists come here to enjoy beach holidays. Besides, travelers are attracted by various historical and cultural monuments which can be found on the islands in great numbers. When in Malta, don’t forget to visit Saint John’s Co-Cathedral, the cave of Ghar Dalam, the megalithic temples, and the night capital of Paceville — the city of entertainment.
Despite the small sizes of the islands, the transport network here is well-developed. Taxi in Malta is the second popular means of transport after buses, although they are not cheap. Cars belonging to taxi companies are black or white. Black ones work only according to reservations, and drivers of white ones set the trip cost themselves — they calculate the distance, time of day, and the tariff of some specific company. Here, you may bargain a little, as you won’t guess at once how much a taxi in Malta costs, especially when it comes to the trip from the airport or an expensive hotel. A car can be taken only at special ranks.
In Malta, one can also take a bus, but, unfortunately, the public transport system here has its drawbacks, as well. Thus, all routes are connected by the central bus station in Valletta, so you will probably have to travel through the capital each time.
If both options don’t suit you (and, moreover, you don’t want to guess the price), you may book a private Kiwitaxi transfer in Malta. How far in advance should I book a transfer in Malta?
The timing depends on the vehicle class.
Premium class vehicles or Minibus for 10, 13, 16 or 19 pax should be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
Standard vehicles (Micro, Economy, Comfort, Minivan 4 pax, Minibus 7 pax) should be booked at least 16 hours prior to your trip.
If you don't have that much time, you can book an urgent transfer. We will inform you as soon as possible whether we can provide the service or not.
What should I do if my flight to Malta is delayed?
As soon as you find out that your flight is delayed, please inform your driver by calling the phone number provided to you, contacting Customer Support via e-mail at support@kiwitaxi.com, by using the online chat on our website, or by calling +442080682801.
Provide the order number and the new arrival time.
What should I do if my flight to Malta arrives early?
If your flight arrives early, your driver may not be at the meeting point with a nameplate yet. Please wait for the driver at the meeting point indicated on the voucher.
You can also contact the driver by phone or SMS to speed up your meeting at the airport.

How do I find my driver before my transfer in Malta?
Important note: Your driver will meet you with a nameplate displaying the first and last names you provided during the booking.
For airport transfers, the driver will meet you at the arrivals area exit. It is located after the passport control and the baggage claim areas.
For hotel transfers, the driver will wait in the lobby.
