Introduction
Hi, I’m Melissa — a travel content creator
The more I go to Paris, the more I realise it's a city best enjoyed slowly—through long walks, delicious meals, and moments that capture its timeless charm. Whether you're visiting for the first time or returning to uncover more of its beauty, here’s a list of must-do experiences that blend iconic sights with some rather random—but equally amazing—moments.

Where to Go
Wander around Luxembourg Gardens Stroll through one of Paris’s most beautiful parks, with tree-lined paths, fountains, and the stunning Luxembourg Palace as your backdrop.
Go up the Eiffel Tower No visit to Paris is complete without admiring the view from its most iconic monument. I don’t know about you, but I always feel like something's missing from the skyline… any guess? The Eiffel Tower, of course! Then you quickly remember you’re standing on it—which brings a weird sense of relief.
Enjoy the view from Arc de Triomphe Climb to the top of this historic arch for panoramic views over the Champs-Élysées and the Eiffel Tower. It's one of my favourite viewpoints in Paris—and also quite affordable!
Take a day trip to Versailles, Giverny, or Chantilly Escape the city and explore the grandeur of Versailles, the gardens of Monet’s Giverny, or the fairytale Château de Chantilly—all within easy reach by train or car.

Where & What to Eat in Paris
Enjoy a traditional French dinner at Bouillon Chartier This beloved, budget-friendly brasserie serves classic French dishes in a lively Belle Époque setting. No reservations allowed—just show up and soak in the charm.
Picnic at Place des Vosges Pack some cheese, a baguette, and wine, and relax in the shade of this perfectly symmetrical square in the heart of the Marais.
Morning bakery run for fresh coffee and croissants Start your day the Parisian way with a buttery croissant and café crème from your nearest boulangerie. Want to go a bit bougie? Visit the famous Philippe Conticini for the head-sized croissant you didn’t know you needed.

How to Spend an Evening in Paris
Go to a rooftop bar for the best views Sip a cocktail with a view at Skybar Paris, Le Rooftop, Le Perchoir, or Les Ombres. Perfect for sunset or a romantic evening out.
Go for a drink around Canal St Martin This trendy canal-side area is ideal for a casual apéro at sunset, with plenty of cool bars and people-watching.
Go on a dinner cruise along the Seine Dine while gliding past Paris’s most beautiful monuments lit up at night, accompanied by live music and delicious French food. It’s a magical way to experience the city!
Watch a cabaret show For a fun and glamorous night out, catch a classic Parisian cabaret like the Moulin Rouge. Book in advance, as tickets sell out fast! If you don’t have luck there, don’t worry—there are plenty of equally fun but lesser known alternatives.

Walks & Art in Paris
Morning stroll around Montmartre
Explore this bohemian hilltop neighborhood’s winding streets, quaint cafés, and artistic history. It’s also the perfect place for some souvenir shopping.
Visit a museum: the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, or Musée de l'Orangerie
From the Mona Lisa to Monet’s water lilies, these world-class museums offer something for every art lover.
Evening stroll around St Germain
Wander through cobblestone streets, historic cafés, and art galleries in this elegant neighborhood. Probably my favourite spot for dinner and drinks!
Visit the famous Sacré-Cœur Basilica
This gleaming white basilica offers one of the best views of Paris—and entry is free. Just beware, you’ll need to climb quite a few stairs, but I promise it’s worth it!
