Paris Travel Guide: Melissa’s Must-Do Experiences in the City of Light

Paris isn’t just a destination — it’s a feeling. The City of Light draws millions each year with its romance, art, and history, but its true beauty is found in the slower moments: an unhurried stroll through leafy gardens, a morning coffee at a street-side café, or watching the sunset from a rooftop bar. In this guide, travel content creator Melissa shares her non-negotiables — the experiences she believes every visitor should enjoy at least once, whether it’s your first time in Paris or your fifth.

Introduction

Hi, I’m Melissa — a travel content creator

The more I go to Paris, the more I realise it's a city best enjoyed slowly—through long walks, delicious meals, and moments that capture its timeless charm. Whether you're visiting for the first time or returning to uncover more of its beauty, here’s a list of must-do experiences that blend iconic sights with some rather random—but equally amazing—moments.

Introduction

Where to Go

Wander around Luxembourg Gardens Stroll through one of Paris’s most beautiful parks, with tree-lined paths, fountains, and the stunning Luxembourg Palace as your backdrop.

Go up the Eiffel Tower No visit to Paris is complete without admiring the view from its most iconic monument. I don’t know about you, but I always feel like something's missing from the skyline… any guess? The Eiffel Tower, of course! Then you quickly remember you’re standing on it—which brings a weird sense of relief.

Enjoy the view from Arc de Triomphe Climb to the top of this historic arch for panoramic views over the Champs-Élysées and the Eiffel Tower. It's one of my favourite viewpoints in Paris—and also quite affordable!

Take a day trip to Versailles, Giverny, or Chantilly Escape the city and explore the grandeur of Versailles, the gardens of Monet’s Giverny, or the fairytale Château de Chantilly—all within easy reach by train or car.
