How to Get to Borovets
Borovets is a Bulgarian ski resort, which is popular both among local and foreign sportsmen. It is located on the Rila mountain range, the highest one in Bulgaria. Visitors often wonder how to get to Borovets. The majority of them take a taxi or transfer, while others choose public transportation.
Taxi to Borovets
It is easy to take a taxi at the stand. Make sure that you recourse to official service only. Another opportunity is to call a taxi. An average price of a trip from Sofia Airport is 80 BGN (40 euros). It is better to have a national currency. If you do not, you can end up paying too much. A taxi from Burgas will cost you around 230 euros. The fees can be higher in case of traffic jams or at weekends. Check if the taximeter is turned on while getting into the taxi.
Transfer to Borovets

A transfer from Sofia Airport in an economy-class car will cost you 44 euros. Big groups have an opportunity to take a minibus. The fare of a trip for 7 persons is 63 euros. Public transport to Borovets
Public transportation is the best option for budget travelers. However, in order to reach the resort from Sofia Airport, you will need to make a lot of changes. Firstly, take a train to the Bulgarian capital, then, take a bus to Samokov, and only after that – a bus to the resort. The whole journey will take around 4 hours and cost around 20 BGN (10 euros).
We do not advise to go to the resort from Burgas by public transport, as the journey will take around 7 hours. It might be better to take a taxi or a transfer.
Borovets has slopes both for beginner and intermediate skiers. It is in an ideal place for vacation. Snowboarders can also have fun at the resort, as there are slopes for them too. In the evening you can go to one of the restaurants and taste both local and international dishes.
