Buses depart in the evening and reach Rach Gia in the middle of the night, so you’ll have to pass the time until morning in the waiting hall or book a hotel room.
Phu Quoc island is developing rapidly, and today it is popular not only among Vietnamese people, but also among foreigners. Beach rest lovers will especially enjoy this place because it is warm here throughout the year and one can visit white-sand beaches and have a wide range of active leisure activities such as diving or surfing. There is Vinpearl Safari park opened recently on the island – it accommodates about 3,000 animals from all around the world. On Phu Quoc, you can also visit the museum devoted to the nature of the island and its history. Besides, there are two saltwater pearls plantations and a private crocodile farm. Tourists can buy some pearls if they like, as well as some crocodile leather products.

The bus ticket can be bought at Mien Tay Bus Station in Ho Chi Minh. The bus will take you to the destination, the city of Rach Gia, in 6 hours, and this will cost $7. You’ll have to spend another 2 hours getting from Rach Gia to Ha Tien Pier, and the same time – getting from the pier to Phu Quoc island.
