It's pretty easy to get from Prague to Vienna, and you can choose one of the available transportation options like cars, planes, trains or buses. Sure, if it comes to how to get to the destination, you first think about planes. And indeed, 320 kilometers (that is the distance between Prague airport and Vienna airport) will be covered in one hour. Still, the air fare is not that low for ordinary tourists: around EUR600. By train you can get from Prague to Vienna for around four hours. The train ticket price can reach up to EUR 30-40. The cheapest option is to go by bus (from EUR16), although the trip can take 5-6 hours. The road trip by car can cost you at least EUR325 for a 3.5-4 hour trip.
To save some money on the train trip, you should buy an electronic ticket in advance; the price for adults is around EUR20. There is also such an option like the unlimited weekend travel ticket called SONE+ that is available for two or three people at a time. The price for a one-way ticket is around EUR50. If you choose to go by plane, please note that in comparison with trains, buses or taxis that will bring you to the city centre, you will also need to choose any suitable option to leave the airport that will add some 30 minutes to the trip time and extra EUR5 for a tube ticket.
Of course, all tourists who come to Prague want to visit Vienna as well, since the distance is only 330 kilometers between the cities. And you can find lots of exciting attractions in the capital of Austria! The main train station of Prague is located almost in the city centre, near Wenceslas Square, so the trip to the train station will not take much time, up to 30 minutes by public transport. The time of the train trip Prague - Vienna takes over four hours, yet it can depend on the carrier company, although it might be longer anyway. The longest trip is the night route — around seven hours. On the one hand, you'll be in Vienna in the morning, on the other hand — you have to buy a berth ticket to have enough sleep, and it's a little more expensive than a regular ticket. Anyway, it can be good to go by train Prague - Vienna: the trains are clean and spacious and have a dining car. It's better to buy tickets on the official website of the Czech Republic rails; they start selling tickets two months before the trip. The price for a train ticket is EUR20 for an adult (second class), and EUR40 in the first class.

Buses from Prague to Vienna is the cheapest option to reach the capital of Austria. For the convenience of tourists, several carriers work on the route; the most popular of them are Student Agency and EuroLines. The road takes around four hours, and the price for a bus is EUR16.
