There are only two ways to get from Munich to Neuschwanstein: by taxi (individual transfer) or public transport (with a change). When giving preference to public transport, though with a change, note that Munich Airport is 30 km from the city, and you’ll have to get from it to the railway station in a little less than an hour (by bus). And here is another important thing: if you are travelling with someone else, it is better to buy a so-called «Bayern Ticket». This one ticket can be used by a group up to 5 people; and it is valid for trains, buses, and some other kinds of transport. Its price is EUR 23 for one person, the additional payment for each next passenger is EUR 4.
Neuschwanstein Castle is probably the most significant architectural building in Bavaria where thousands of tourists come annually. The castle had been built for 17 years, however its third storey is still not fully built. Inside, castle impresses with its rich decoration: here are different intricate frescos, pictures, beautiful chandeliers, and many other things in it. You can get from Fussen to Neuschwanstein Castle by bus №78. Its travel time is just 10 minutes and it makes several stops on the route, but usually all passengers get to the end point of the route – Schwangau. Buses depart frequently – in 10 minutes after each train from Munich arrives. As the «Bayern Ticket» includes bus travel, as well, you don’t need to pay for it additionally – it's enough to show your ticket to the driver.
