There is also another way to get to the island – by using the services of Lomprayah carrier. You can book a ticket for the bus Bangkok Koh Samui through the official company’s website on the Internet or at the bus station ticket office. The complex ticket costs $40 and includes the trip by bus to Chumphon (7 hours 10 minutes) and the trip from there to the island by catamaran. The bus departs from Southern Bus Terminal, and there are some night-time journeys. The bus Bangkok Koh Samui is equipped with all conveniences, but don’t forget about strong air-conditioning.
In Chumphon, you need to change to a high-speed Lomprayah catamaran which will take you to the island in 3.5 hours. It departs twice a day: early in the morning and late in the evening. Trains are not available at night, but they are frequent at daytime. In Thailand, trains are usually late. Almost all seats on a train are air-conditioned, so it is better to have warm clothes with you.

There are lots of rental companies in Thailand, but as fraud is quite common, choose certified international firms. ThInsurance is included in the price of car rental per day.
