What you need to know about hotels in Madonna di Campiglio

Madonna di Campiglio looks like a typical North Italian city, although in fact the resort is designed only to one audience – the lovers of skiing.

Margherita and Nick, the owners of The Crowded Planet blog:

One of the reasons why Madonna di Campiglio is so special is that you won’t find big, package hotels. The hospitality world is almost entirely made up of family-run hotels like Hotel Alpina, opened in 1955 and still run by the same family. The hotel is also certified as eco friendly by the Parco Adamello Brenta.

About one thousand people live in Madonna di Campiglio, while in the high season, up to 30 000 tourists come here. Almost all buildings in Madonna di Campiglio are hotels, restaurants, and supermarkets. You won’t find an apartment or a chalet here, but more than 100 hotels are at your disposal.

Keep in mind some things:

  • Even hotels without any stars can offer a high level of service.
  • The closer hotels to the ski lifts, the higher the cost of living.
  • Madonna di Campiglio is a popular ski resort. When planning a winter vacation, rent a hotel room in advance, better in summer.
  • If you want to save money, rent a hotel in a nearby town, for example, in Pinzolo.

A user of Snowheads Forum notes:

We skied there last season Jan 2015 & actually stayed in Pinzolo, this resort is connected with a 15 min Gondalas to Madonna di Campiglio, but it was a quiet town with no other English people!

Which hotels in Madonna di Campiglio to choose.

A user of Snowheads Forum has chosen this accommodation:

We stayed at Hotel Cristal Palace 2 years ago and would thoroughly recommend it. As it was at the edge of the town I imagine that is why it is not too expensive. The hotel provided a transfer to the lifts, but the walk was only about 12 minutes. The most incredible views across the valley from the back of the hotel. Would thoroughly recommend.

MountainExcursion, a Tripadvisor Forum user was here with a big company:

We stayed at Hotel Bertelli for 6 nights on our ski holiday in Madonna Di Campiglio, 8 adults and 6 children from 12 – 15 years old. For our group Hotel Bertelli was just perfect, the rooms are warm and clean, nice pool and sauna, good restaurant, amazing staff and great location right just outside the Pradolago cable car.

The bloggers also recommend these hotels:

  • Alpen Suite Hotel
  • Pineta Naturamente Hotels
  • Hotel Cristina
  • Golf Hotel Campiglio
  • Hotel Palu
  • Hotel Il Catturanino

In most hotels, the transfers to the ski lifts are included in the price of living. Those, who want to rent a car, should choose hotels far from the center of Madonna di Campiglio: there are lots of free 24-hour parking zones.
