How to Get from Fujairah to Dubai Airport and Other Destinations
The United Arab Emirates is a well-known tourist destination. Even though the majority of tourists go to Sharjah or Abu Dabi, Fujairah is also a popular beach resort. An emirate without skyscrapers boasts beautiful landscapes, valleys, and waterfalls. As the area does not have its air hub, a lot of people wonder how to get from this resort to other locations.
Taxi from Fujairah
Taxi in the city center, heading to other emirates can be found near Old Plaza Cinema/HSBC. A fare of a taxi to DXB International Airport will be about 250 dirhams (55 euros), to Al Maktoum - about 320 dirhams (70 euros). Emirati taxis are metered, so make sure that the taximeter is turned on for not paying more at the end of a trip.
Transfer from Fujairah
If you like planning everything in advance, booking a transfer will be a good idea instead of searching for taxi cabs on the spot. The Kiwitaxi transfer company is ready to drive you to DXB International Airport for 72 euros, and to Al Maktoum one for 88 euros.
In comparison to taxis, transfer prices are fixed and do not change. Our cars are comfortable and safe, and transfer drivers always wait for the customers near their hotels or at the reception, in case it is possible. We also suggest you transfer trips to Marina, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, and other destinations. More information is on our website.
Public transport from Fujairah
If you are a budget traveler, you might prefer to go to Dubai by bus, it goes every hour but does not operate at night. However, there is no direct route between Fujairah and Dubai air terminals. You will need to get on a bus at Old Plaza Cinema/HSBC, and go to Deira, from where you will get to DXB International by metro.
A bus ticket costs around 25 dirhams (5,50 euros). You will need to buy it at the station, which is situated on the way out of Fujairah, where the transport stops before leaving the city. Keep in mind that the first rows are for women and families, so if you are a man traveling alone, sit in the middle of the vehicle. After you reach Deira, take a metro from the Union Square station to the Terminal 1 or 3, it is the Red line. The fare will be 2.5 dirhams (about 0,6 euros). You might prefer a Gold Class as there are fewer people, it will cost you 5 dirhams.
In case you like learning something about the UAE, Fujairah is the right place for you. One of the most interesting attractions is the Fujairah Fort, which was built in the 16th century and give a chance to oversee the whole city.
