How to Get from Tunis Airport to Other Destinations
Carthage Airport is located 8 km from the capital of the country. This international airport serves more than 6 million passengers a year. Tourists often wonder how to get from the air hub to Tunis and many other cities and resorts. While ones take a taxi or a transfer, others prefer public transport.
Taxi from Tunis Airport
There is a taxi stand, where you can easily take an official car. An average rate of a trip from the air hub to the capital is 7 TND (2 euros). A taxi should be metered. However, some drivers might refuse to use the taximeter. You can agree on a price at the beginning of a taxi trip. It should not be higher than 15 TND (5 euros). There are surcharges at night. When discussing the price with a taxi driver, insist that all additional fees are included. Do not take cars from the strangers, who offer their services at the airport. In case you are planning a long trip, it might be more reasonable to take a transfer.
Transfer from Tunis Airport
A transfer is the best option for those, whose final destination is located far from the air hub. Fixed fares and different car classes let you plan your budget beforehand. The Kiwitaxi transfer service organizes cars to resorts and cities. We work only with licensed professional drivers and provide our customers with safety and comfort.
A fare of a trip to the capital is 31 euros, to Hammamet – 42 euros, and to Sousse – 73 euros in case you choose an economy-class car. You have an opportunity to choose a comfort-class or a business-class car if you prefer more space. We are also ready to provide you with a transfer to Monastir, Kelibia or Nabeul. More information can be found on the Kiwitaxi website.
Public transport from Tunis Airport
The bus to the center of Tunis departs from the airport every 30 minutes. The ticket costs 1 TND (less than 0.5 euro), and the journey takes about 15 minutes. You can also take a premium bus in order to get to the city center. There is no train connection between the airport and Tunis, but from the capital, you can easily get to other cities by bus or train. However, public transport is not available at night. It might be better to take a taxi or a transfer in case you arrive late.
