How to get from Jomtien Beach to the Nearest Airports and Other Destinations

Unofficially, Pattaya can be divided into 2 parts: northern and southern. Despite the fact that Jomtien Beach is a separate entity, tourists consider it to be part of the southern Pattaya. Annually, families with children and aged travelers come here for holidays. One can get from Jomtien to the airports of Bangkok or Pattaya by bus, transfer, or using a taxi service.

A taxi can take you from Jomtien to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok in 1 hour and 30 minutes for around 37 dollars, and to U-Tapao Airport in Pattaya – in 1 hour and 20 minutes for around 34 dollars. Getting to Ban Phe will take 2 hours and will cost about 45 dollars.

The main drawback of taxis is that you will find out the trip cost only when you reach your destination. The driver can intentionally raise the price because of the number of passengers or the amount of baggage. The journey cost may also be an unpleasant surprise in case you’ve met a fraudster. So if you choose a taxi, consider official companies only, not private drivers.

Public transport from Jomtien Beach

Sometimes, the bus from Jomtien goes to the Northern bus terminal. There, you can change to songthaews – pick-up vans with two rows of seating (local share taxis). The trip cost is around 0.9 dollars.

Jomtien Beach: useful information

Jomtien stretches several kilometers along the Gulf of Thailand. The traffic in its central and southern parts is not that heavy. In its northern part, there is a pedestrian street stretching along the sea.

The beach in Jomtien is one of the calmest in Pattaya, but at sunset, it becomes rather crowded. It is a perfect place for quiet beach holidays. The beach is considered the cleanest in Pattaya. It stretches for 5 km in a straight. Its width is about 15 m. The water is yellowish and muddy.

Outside the beach area, you will find some restaurants, bars, hotels, tourist offices, and massage salons. All infrastructure in Jomtien is located 100-200 meters from the sea. Beyond it, there are deserted fields.
