How to Get from Cha Am to Other Destinations
Not so far away from the capital, Cha Am District is a resort town with stretching white beaches, popular among locals and tourists. Nevertheless, the district protects its quiet charm with is natural beauty showcased in mountains, national parks, and caves. You can go hiking, join a bike tour to discover the greenery of Cha Am or enjoy surfing. For a historical tour underlining beauty, visit Mrigadayavan Palace built for the king in 1924 as a seaside villa with Victorian influence and open-air plan to get therapeutic sea air. At the southern end of the coast, lies the Wat Neranchararam Buddhist Temple. Another resort town Hua Hin is also 20 minutes away with its Venice themed village. Closest Airports are Suvarnabhumi also known as BKK and Don Mueang in Bangkok, 2.5 hours away.
Taxi from Cha Am
Mototaxis replace Tuk-Tuks here but there are regular taxis as well. Regular taxis look like normal cars and do not have one single color or sign so it might look very unofficial to you. You can ask your hotel to call one if you are not sure about flagging one down. Taxi to the capital’s railway station will cost around €35. The price of a taxi to Don Mueang Airport is around €40, and to Suvarnabhumi, it is €45.
Public Transport from Cha Am
Public transport is the cheapest option here. Bus to the capital city center costs €6 and takes 3 hours. But they do not depart on schedule and tend to wait until they are full. From Bangkok, you can make 3 changes and arrive at Don Mueang for €11. There are three train connections to Bangkok from Cha Am but trains are not famous for their punctuality. It takes 4 hours and costs €4 for a first class ticket.

As much as trains are scenic and buses are cheap, public transport is not a reliable way of transport from Cha Am. Taxis in Cha-am might be convenient but for intercity connections, you might want a safer option.
