How to get from Puerto Banus to other destinations
Puerto Banus is a famous city and port on the Costa del Sol next to Marbella. To get to other destinations travelers may use a taxi, a bus or a transfer. The most popular routes are to Gibraltar-Spain border, Mijas, and Calahonda.
Taxi from Puerto Banus
There are 4 main taxi ranks: one near Glam nightclub, one near Dreamers nightclub, one at the entrance of the port, one outside El Corte Ingles. You can also find a car at such key points as hotels and squares. In summer it is difficult to find a taxi but you will easily book it by phone. A ride to Malaga Airport which is about 58 km from the city will cost 81$ (70 EUR). You should confirm the price beforehand because drivers sometimes try to take advantage of trusting travelers. Ask for the folder of fixed official prices.
Transfer from Puerto Banus
If you don’t want to wait for a taxi or don’t trust local drivers, booking a transfer from Puerto Banus is a good idea. A trip to Malaga Airport costs from 70$ (60 EUR). Traveling in a company of 7-10 people you can rent a minibus and share the cost, it will be cheaper - a car for 7 passengers is 106$ (91 EUR), a vehicle for 10 passengers is 151$ (130 EUR). A Kiwitaxi transfer offers high-quality service - our drivers are experienced and polite, they help you with your luggage, drive at a comfortable speed, do everything to make the journey easy and pleasant. Besides, transfer fares are fixed after the booking. With the user-friendly website and 24/7 support, you will fully appreciate the benefits of a private Kiwitaxi transfer.
Public transport from Puerto Banus
There is no bus station in the city but you can get to some destinations by Portillo services L1 and L4 which run via Puerto Banus. Stops are located on the A7 near the port and at El Corte Ingles. Vehicles run every 30 minutes. Tickets are bought from the driver. Sometimes (for instance, if you need to go to Malaga Airport) you have to go to Marbella by taxi and take a bus there. The ticket cost is about 8$ (7 EUR). The trip takes 40-45 minutes, but it may be longer because of traffic jams and you can waste time waiting for the vehicle.
Puerto Banus is a luxurious port and resort built in may 1970 by Jose Bonus. About 5 million people come here every year to enjoy the glamour and do shopping in boutiques (such as Versace, Gucci, Christian Dior etc.). The famous Plaza Antonio Banderas and Torre Almenara Del Duque are worth seeing as well as the sculpture La Victoria on Avenida de Julio Iglesias. Night restaurants and clubs also offer great entertainment.
