How to Get from Barcelona Airport to the City
Being the largest Spanish air hub, El Prat Airport serves around 30 million passengers a year. It is located 13 km away from Barcelona city center which can be easily reached by buses, trains, taxis, and transfers. To get from one terminal to another (there are 4 km between them), one can use free airport shuttles.
Taxi from Barcelona Airport to the City
Taxi ranks at Barcelona Airport can be found near the terminal exits. These cabs are black and yellow. In order to take a taxi, go to special staff - they will show you an available car. This service is available 24/7. Taxi prices are calculated according to a taximeter, and baggage is charged extra (price lists can be found inside cars). The average cost of travel from Barcelona Airport to the city is €35-40 (depending on the terminal you leave, as one of them is located farther than the other).

Public transportation from Barcelona Airport to the City
The cheapest option to leave Barcelona Airport is by public transport. Thus, you may take Aerobus which runs directly to the city center. Such a journey will cost you €6 if you go from Terminal 1, and €5.95 if you go from Terminal 2. Also, you may use the bus N46 (its fare is €2). At night, there is only the city express N17 running to the city (€2.20).
Another way to get from Barcelona Airport to the city is by RENFE train. Its fare is €8, and it doesn’t run at night. Note that these vehicles are often packed, so many passengers have to stand during travel. Also, many of these options do not have baggage compartments. So if you prefer comfort, it would be better to reserve a taxi or a transfer.
