How to get from Castellon Airport to City Center and Other Destinations
Castellon-Costa Azahar Airport is an international air terminal located 35 km from the city of Castellon de la Plana in Spain. When planning your holidays in the city or some other nearby place, remember to map out a trip from the airport to a destination you need. Read on to find out options of getting to Castellon and neighboring destinations.
Taxi from Castellon Airport
Taxi service working at the air hub offers flat prices for getting to popular destinations. Weekday/day and weekend/night tariffs differ, and the latter is always higher. Reaching Castellon city center from the air hub by taxi costs 40-50 euros and takes around 45 minutes. A 70-minute trip to Peniscola will cost you 50-60 euros. When taking a taxi, take care to agree on a price before getting into the car to avoid unpleasant misunderstanding. Remember that local drivers generally speak poor English.
Transfer from Castellon Airport
Compared to taxi, a private transfer is a more convenient and faster way to get where you need. It saves your time, as you don’t need to arrange transportation there and then and can start your trip right after passing the airport’s customs.
To pre-order a Kiwitaxi transfer, fill in the online booking specifying your flight number, an exact address of your accommodation in Castellon de la Plana, and a number of passengers. Parents traveling with small children should order child seats as well. An individual taxi transfer to the city downtown costs from 60 euros and takes 45 minutes. Getting to Peniscola makes from 84 euros and an hour and 10 minutes, while a 1,5-hour transfer trip to Valencia costs from 132 euros. All fares are fixed and correspond to offered vehicle classes. You may pay for the transfer online by credit card or in cash to a driver upon arrival.
A Kiwitaxi transfer driver will meet you in the arrivals hall. You’ll identify them by a sign with your name on it. After loading your luggage in the trunk, they’ll safely and comfortably bring you to the destination. All you need to do is to enjoy your transfer trip.
Public Transport from Castellon Airport
The air terminal provides no public transportation. You’ll have to reach some nearby town (by taxi or transfer) to take a bus or train to where you need.
About Castellon Airport
Castellon-Costa Azahar was officially opened in 2011. However, the first flight departed from the air hub only in 2014. The air terminal became a symbol of wasteful spending and corruption that led Spain to an economic crisis. Today the airport serves flights of only 2 airlines.
