How to Get from Ekaterinburg Airport to Other Destinations
Koltsovo International Airport, also known as Ekaterinburg Airport, serves more than 5 million passengers per year. It is the largest air hub in Sverdlovsk Oblast. People often search for information, how to get from there to Ekaterinburg (also known as Yekaterinburg) and other cities. Some of them take a taxi outside the terminal, while others prefer transfer services or public transport.
Taxi from Ekaterinburg Airport
Taxi can be found outside the terminals. An average fare of a trip to the city downtown is 700 RUB (10 euros). It depends on where exactly your accommodation is located. If you want to save money, you can call a taxi instead of taking one at the airport. However, the majority of Russians do not speak English. It might be better to book a transfer in order to get to your final destination without any problems.
Transfer from Ekaterinburg Airport
Nowadays a taxi transfer is becoming more and more popular. The majority of tourists do not like wasting time while waiting for a taxi or local transport, therefore, they book a private car. The Kiwitaxi is a reliable company which organizes trips from the air hub to Ekaterinburg and other Russian cities. A driver will arrive upon arrival and meet you in the terminal.
Thus, a transfer to the same destination will cost you 14 euros in case you take an economy-class car. If you are heading to Nizhny Tagil, the fare of a ride will be 59 euros, and to Chelyabinsk – 61 euros.
Big groups can order minibuses. Fares are on the Kiwitaxi website. In case you need a special transfer, feel free to contact the consultants.
Public transport from Ekaterinburg Airport
There are several ways to get from the airport to the city. Bus line 1 departs every 15 minutes and goes to the train station. A 1-hour journey will cost you around 30 RUB (0.5 euro). You can also take an express bus. As there are fewer stops, a trip will take around 35 minutes. A fare of a ticket is 100 RUB (1.4 euro). A train between the airport and city center circulates twice daily. A ticket costs 50 RUB (1 euro).
From this air hub, you can also take a direct bus to Perm, Chelyabinsk, Nizhny Tagil, and other cities. Public transport is not available at night. Choose a taxi or a transfer service in advance in case you arrive late.
Ekaterinburg is the fourth most populous city in Russia. If you are into arts, do not miss the chance to visit the Museum of Fine Arts, where works of European and Russian artists are featured, including ones of Wassily Kandinsky, and Kazimir Malevich.
