How to Get from Modlin Airport to Warsaw and Other Destinations
Warsaw air hub serves several international destinations and handles almost 3 million passengers a year. When arriving at the air hub, make sure to know available options of transportation to where you need. In our short article, you’ll find variants of getting from Modlin to the city downtown and other popular places.
Taxi from Modlin Airport
Taxi cabs are usually waiting outside the airport’s arrivals zone. Different companies offer either meter-based price or flat rates for rides to the capital. Fixed fares range from 30 to 60 euros for a 1-hour trip. A taxi journey to Chopin Airport will cost 45-55 euros and take about an hour. Night/weekend/holiday rates are higher. Anyway, take care to agree on a price before getting in a taxi or make sure a driver turns a meter on to avoid misunderstanding.
Transfer from Modlin Airport
Aside from taxi, there’s another handy option of transportation - private transfer. You can pre-order a preferred class car to be met by a driver at the airport and brought to the exact address you need. This is especially convenient for those traveling with small children, elderly relatives, and passengers with heavy luggage. Kiwitaxi provides such a door-to-door transfer service at fixed fares.
To reserve a transfer, fill in the booking form your flight number, a drop-off place, and a number of passengers. Remember to order child seats if needed. A Kiwitaxi taxi transfer to Warsaw city center costs from 52 euros, taking an hour of time. For getting to Chopin air hub, you’ll have to pay from 54 euros. The transfer trip takes about an hour as well.
At Kiwitaxi, it’s not necessary to prepay for a transfer – you may add your card to the booking and pay in cash to a driver after arriving at the destination. At the same time, one still may choose to pay the full sum in advance by credit card.
Public Transport from Modlin Airport
Several direct bus lines connect Modlin air hub with Warsaw. You can buy a ticket for 2-10 euros and spend an hour and 10 minutes to reach the city downtown. To go by rail, get to Modlin train station first (by bus) to catch a train to Warsaw. In total, you’ll spend 4-7 euros and an hour and 15 minutes. There are direct trains departing from the station to Krakow, Lodz and other cities and towns.
Apart from specific inconvenience public transport provides, it is unavailable at night hours. People arriving at night need to consider a taxi or transfer.
