Krakow Airport: Transfers and Taxi
Transfers from Krakow Airport
Transfers are the most convenient way to go from John Paul II International (KRK) to the center of the city, visit the beautiful parks of Liptovský Mikuláš and Katowice or go to the hotel and ski resort of Tatranská Lomnica.
Some of the benefits of Kiwitaxi Krakow airport transfer are:
- The driver will be waiting for you at the air hub, holding a sign with your name on it.
- The professional driver respects the traffic rules and guarantees your safety.
- It is more affordable if you go in a group or if you have a lot of luggage or heavy suitcases with you.
- If you travel with children, you can order child/infant seats in advance and ensure their safety
- You can book in advance and online.
There is 17.7 km between the air hub and the city. In Krakow, a transfer from the air hub will take you to your destination in 20 minutes. The price of the trip starts at 29 euros.
Taxi from Krakow Airport
At John Paul II, you can find cabs, but to get into them you will have to queue up, which can take 1-2 hours. From Krakow Airport, a taxi ride to the city can cost 24 euros.
With Kiwitaxi, the driver will wait for you at the appointed time, will have a sign with your name on it.
There are also popular apps like Neptun, EcoCar, Dajan, and Uber working in the cities of Poland but sometimes when you try to call them, it doesn't accept the country code, and sometimes even the confirmation SMS does not arrive. Thus, it might be quite challenging to get from the airport by taxi to Krakow.
Public Transport
Besides the cabs, you can use public transport to get from the air hub to the center of the city. The first option is the bus. You can take the following lines:
Routes 292 and 208 connect the air hub with the train station (the stop Dworzec Główny Wschód). The bus leaves every 30-60 minutes (if it is not a rush hour). The trip time is approximately 50 minutes and the price per trip is 0.67 euros.
Also, the night bus 902 departs at 11 pm, 0 pm and 2 am every day. The cost per trip on the bus is 0.67 euros.
You can also use the train to get to your destination. The Balice Express goes from the air hub to the city center. The trip takes 20 minutes. The price per ticket is 3 euros. The schedule of this train is from 4 am to 11 pm, with an interval of approximately 30 minutes.
